Select "R128" or "Crest Factor" DR

When we start work on the next major release of DROffline MkII, we would like to be able to include comprehensive DRi tagging for FLAC and ALAC as well as LPCM like AIFF and WAV. For that, we’d need Roon’s help.

BTW, musicjunkie917’s comment is true in that LRA is not a dynamic range measurement. LRA or Loudness Range is the most commonly used metric in the whole 1770/R 128 suite of measurements. In fact, nothing in the R 128 spec was not designed to measure subjective loudness. Unlike DRi, R 128 isn’t well suited to that task.

I created this Python script, drRoon:

It turns foobar2000 DR logs into file or folder tags in an automated way, especially useful for Roon users.

If you have any improvements you’d like to see let me know!

Oliver,

Did anything ever come of this?

Not as yet. Apparently, this feature request has not reached a level of urgency or awareness within the marketing department necessary to pay attention to it.

add a tag for this and it will be displayed next to the Genres.

Hey Phillippe,

No idea how to do that!

I do that with a python script, I add the tag ROONALBUMTAG with the DR value. In Roon it shows like this:

The tag I added is:

If the tag is not existant in Roon, it will add it automatically and then you will be able to search in your albums based on the DR value…

Hope this helps
