Shanling MCD1.3 CD Player: Is it compatible with ROCK

Hello all,

The Shanling MCD1.3 CD Player has the following outputs:

  • Outputs: Digital I2S, digital coaxial, digital optical, RCA analog audio, XLR analog audio, 6.35mm single-ended headphone

Will it be recognized through one of these outputs for the auto ripping feature of the ROC?

Thanks!

Other than streaming services and local media, Roon doesn’t support audio sources as inputs. However, the Shanling MCD1.3 CD Player does have three digital inputs: USB, optical, and coax. These may be used as Roon zones, i.e., USB connected directly to ROCK and a network stransport supporting S/PDIF for the others.

No. This feature requires a CD drive which will act as a USB Device.

You need an external USB CD/DVD drive, like one that you would use with a laptop or desktop computer. Many are available on Amazon, starting from as low as $15 USD.
