Decided to take the big Beemer out for a spin despite the extreme heat here.
Quite surprised how well the big lump handles in the Twisties TBH.
Much better than I expected.
And all the reviews says the gear change is horrible.
Well obviously they ain’t rode an older Honda as again much better than I was led to believe.
Only thing I have done is order a new gel seat as my old fat a$$ needs a bit more padding these days.
@AceRimmer Beemers all handle really well, no surprise for me,plus no fork dive under braking, the gear change is fine, into first pull clutch in and give it a second before engaging gear.
I went out this morning on mine, it was sunny so just had armoured jeans and textile jacket, half an hour later the sky went black and it peed down, jeans got soaked so cut short my ride.
I can’t say I enjoy riding when it is too hot either. I do have a belstaff mesh jacket that has armoured back and elbows with the rest just mesh that lets the wind straight through.
With temps you have it probably feels like you are getting a hot air drier blowing at you though.
Exactly…lol.
Unfortunately when the outside air temperature exceeds body temperature all the wind rush does is to overheat you.
There is no cooling, just the opposite.
Then it’s time for the AC jacket and helmet!
Still it was fairly pleasant to be out on a bike that actually leans…
The Spyder is great fun but it’s not really the real deal biking experience.
All of Europe is on alert because of the record breaking temps and the last couple of weeks I have just been getting storms and rain and more rain, and then some more.
Above Tarare, heading south day before yesterday
About 23c but getting better
Back to the D996 Ambert D997 Clermont Ferrand
Yesterday, and back again today (the best roads I’ve ever ridden)…
Hi, Roon motorcycle people
Got back almost two weeks ago from an 18-day motorcycle trip in Norway. Covered about 2,800 miles / 4,500 km.
Oslo → Gudvangen → Alesund → Trondheim → Namsos → Sandnessjøen → Bodø → Svolvaer (Lofoten Islands) → Andenes → Nordkjosbotn → Karasjok → Alta (via North Cape) → Tromsø
Absolutely amazing trip. Traveled with Ayers - they were exceptional. The trip converted my wife from a motorcycle-touring skeptic into an enthusiast. She’s done a few short trips with me but this was her longest and she had a blast. We’re going to book something for next year.
Is your ride a Tracer 900, @RodS ?
I managed to get this same shot on my S1000R.1 before you could do it with a car - but you’d block the road
Route Napoleon, just north of Castellane
I came up from there yesterday, the weirdly cold weather kept me in Sisteron another night - so I decided to nip back to Castellane today as well, with a coffee stop in Digne
Such a great road, and beautiful scenery too
Nowhere near as glamorous but a pleasant ride this morning.
Black Creek boat ramp that feeds into the St.Johns River that is connected to the Atlantic Ocean.
Out for a ride today and stopped here.
One music and the other bike related
His daughter Michelle was killed in the same crash, she died on the day and Mike died two days later.
2008 Honda Shadow 750
Was about to convert the chain drive over to a belt drive when the lock down came. Afterwards went to their website to proceed with the conversion and could not locate the owners. It appears that their business was a casualty of the lock down.

A classic has come my way, the long lived Yamaha XT-600E (2002)
Better pics to come! And since i bought it in a “twin-pack” pics of the other bike will follow!
That looks as though it has been well looked after
Just as well they were not part way through changes when they went bump.
