My Roon Setup
I have meant to do this last year, but things kept changing. Now I have settled down a bit.
My Roon server is a custom-built AudioLinux OS machine from Larry at Pareto Audio. The computer resides in a rack in my basement powered with two HDPLEX linear power supplies. There are three ADNACO PCIe Fiber runs out of the server, One to the Network USB interface, and two to each of my primary endpoints. Allo Shanti supplies provide DC power to the PCIe → USB boards at each location. I have found that this method of connecting USB to my DACS and network offers the best sound quality I have had to date.
My office headphone system is currently a Hugo 2 with my RAD-0 headphones.
In the living room, I have a re-purposed Victrola Console holding the equipment. The DAC, turntable, a NUC, and a Mutec MC-3+ USB sources feed the Heavenly Soundworks FIVE17 speakers in the living room. I am still evaluating DACs for this system. I have a loaner Chord DAVE in the system with AudioQuest Water balanced cables to the speakers.
The Windows 10 NUC has a 24 inch Viewsonic touch-screen display. One USB port on the NUC connects to the Mutec, which feeds the speakers via Mogami AES. The NUC provides access to everything from Soundcloud to YouTube. It is also a Roon control point.
The Rega Planar 8 turntable and Musical Fidelity pre-amp feed the speakers with RCA interconnect from BlueJeans cable.
The FIVE17 speakers have multiple inputs and will automatically switch to any active input. All you have to do is pause playback for 15 seconds and then start the new input.

The system design is stable except for picking a DAC for the living room.
One other twist is that I am testing some Remastering software that is in a closed beta. This software upsamples and performs noise shaping. To accommodate this, I am expanding the storage on the server to 18TB this week. I have found this to be very beneficial on the Chord DACs.
Here is a post about my Victrola from a while ago. Some changes since this was done:
