As an owner of C1’s myself I agree there’s a lot to be gained by setting them up right. Mine are further from the wall than yours. Don’t yours sound boomy like that?
It could just be that’s only a thing on mine because I have Devialet amplification and their Speaker Active Matching makes them go deeper in the bass than they normally would.
While my system is awesome I am here to say I have upgraded my main network and NAS. Went with a Synology RS1619xs+, added a 10 Gbs card, two 512 NVME drives and and additional 8 gig of ram for a total of 16.
This is a rack mount NAS comes quad core Xeon processors that can boost to 2.7 Ghz,
Never thought of putting Roon on my NAS, experimented with my old Synology which was a crawl BUT this is fantastic. More than fast enough for a huge library, no network access needed between Nucleus/Computer/etc. and NAS and I am using four 7200 rpm Ironwolf Seagate drives without an SSD to support the Roon database. Best Roon setup I have ever had and I have been one of the originals since day one.
Caveats:
This NAS is a rack mount and comes with no rails
If you install the 10 Gbs card, you no longer have access to silent mode fans and it can get loud if the NAS is in your office. If I had it to do over again, probably would forego the card and just do an link aggregation of two of the 1 Gbs ports.
No they don’t sound boomy at all in their current position. However they have been boomy in other positions as I have experimented with different distances. I now use a combination of methodolgies to set the distances. The distance from speaker front baffle to the rear wall is a Dynaudio recommendation; 1/5 of the depth of the room (wall to wall), for me this is 788mm. Distance between speakers is 1/3 of the width of the room (wall to wall for me this was 2236mm,), this was a Barry Diamond recommendation. Exact (down to the mm), equal distance for each speaker to the listening position. I found these settings work the best for the C1s in my room. When they are in the right position for the room acoustics, these babies just sing beautifully. You really know when you have it set up right.
YUP exactly right and where mine resides. Agree about the rails. Not sure why they don’t just raise the price behind the scenes and include them with what is a rack server

Use SoftEther VPN Server on my Roon Core and VPN into it. (performance is hit or miss - but around the house it’s great (non VPN) - or with native Tidal if the VPN plays up)
iPhone SE 256GB permanently mounted with double sided tape… sometimes you just have to go with the simple… but extravagant.
I tried getting used to carrying around an iPad Mini, using with my Galaxy S20 Ultra, and in the store I tried the iPod touch, smallest but no finger reader, iPhone 12, which was the perfect fit - but also no finger reader (and too expensive for a permanent DAP replacement) and the iPhone SE with 4G was perfect fit and the all important finger scanner so you can unlock on the desk without having to pick it up!
No mucking around with cables or straps and wifi tethering… It just works!
It’s just a standard camera connection cable. The iDSD is unique in it’s connection being purposely designed to take the USB camera connection direct into it without any further cables.
PS. It comes with a longer adapter cable to take a standard USB input as well as an adapter to take a USB B cable (printer type USB cable) straight in.
The Hugo and iFI iDSD Signature have a similarish sound i’ve read, because the Signature is very slightly warmer than the iDSD Black Label but tighter sounding at the same time. The Diablo is for the purists but still with that smooth burr-brown sound.
The update in the cabinet is Denon AVR-X3600H. Speakers are refurb’d Klipsch Quartets. On top of the cabinet is Lenovo tiny PC running roon player/control, and a Topping D10 to convert USB to s/pdif coax for the AVR. On the left is a Niles speaker selector/distribution box for speakers in other rooms and the patio. The little tubular thing is a flashlight. Also new in the cabinet is an inexpensive Audiosource Amp100VS amp hooked up to the AVR zone 2 preouts and the Niles box for remote speakers. Roon server is on a PC in the office. There’s another setup upstairs in the bonus room. I’ll post that one some other day.
P.S. the medicine bottle I didn’t notice is for the dog’s eyedrops.
The Denon AVRs (the 3600H model included) are very musical. I mean both the amplifier and the dac parts. It is a very good choice, imho. These AVRs just need that attached speakers must be properly made (above 5ohms) : it is the case of the Quartets, so… I’m sure the resulting sound is wonderful!
Great system. Have you tried HDMI into your AVR? It will play up to 1536khz files and I know the AKM Dac chips sound great on my Denon. Happy listening.
