Yea…me too …except for the old contraption thingy sitting on top!!!

I put the speakers close to the wall and re-run roomperfect, with roomperfect enabled I can’t really hear a difference, so they are going to stay there as they are more WAF compliant this way

Well I have been messing around for 2 years with all this , since my wife passed away 2 years ago. I have bought and sold tons of equipment and lugged this stuff back and forth between 2 rooms. I think I am done for now, and concentrating on where I am. At first I did not like being alone in the house locked up in the back of the house in what was a dedicated room. So I lugged everything into the main living room area for awhile, did not like the sound, and moved it all back. Doing all this I have been buying and selling also.

After a few months, I decided I really did not like being alone in the house back in this addition. I can’t say why for sure, but I really wanted to be in the main living area. So I moved the audio again back into the front area.

So my old area in the back, now has some computers, including my Roon Computer, some furniture and a giant audio rack empty, except for a tiny Bluray player I use for backing up my SACD’s to my system.

So from having 2 racks full of 20K worth of equipment, cable , wires , accessories to where I am now in the pics. No more 60 pound amps or 50 lb turntables to wrestle with and hurt my 65 year old back .

So I am down to my new NAD Masters M33, my ripped music , Qobuz, and ROON, and listening to more music than ever when I have the time, along with all the other cool stuff I can do with the M33. I have some work to do to improve the room, already did some. Dirac live (I own the full version) will help. The M33 is very fast and agile in all its functions.

NAD Masters M33, Revel Performa F208, PS audio Power Cable and Dectet AC Power Conditioner, dedicated 20amp circuit, Dedicated PC for Roon core with SSD for OS and Roon , everything hard wired no wifi. TV capable of showing ROON on big screen when I am in the mood, when not covered by a heavy blanket. PC in a total different area of the house.

Those speakers, the revels, look great. The more I see of the brand, and the reviews I read, they seem like a great make!

Revels are superb.

Here’s a couple of Salon2’s upside down (tweeter still at ear level…) in a famous (in sound reproduction) and smart guy’s room:

Interesting! I was thinking why this was necessary in the first place, but I see it is to do with the fire I assume. I now want to do this in my lounge! Only 5.1 currently.

That’s a beautiful, simple system, and I bet it sounds wonderful. Lovely rug too.

…and sorry to hear about your wife.

The Revels with the M33 are working nice together, and I still have to run my full Dirac on this system.

Thanks it is all working pretty well so far. I laughed a bit on your rug comment, as that is what happens when the man is allowed to move out of his room in the back of the house, pictures and rug come with him

Room Perfect is amazing - I hope your wife appreciates all the effort you’ve gone to :grinning:

Love the speakers. I heard the Focal Aria 948s at my local dealer a few years ago. They sounded fantastic to me. I had visited to listen to the Sopra No.2, which I also loved. The big Arias performance forced me to think about the value proposition relative to the Sopras. Really, really good. I didn’t purchase either on that day, which I regret, since Focal’s U.S. distributor raised speaker prices so much since then.

Vibration control on amps, DACs, and gear might be a murky topic, but on speakers and subs, there’s not much dispute. If you check the pro audio scene, where Isoacoustics comes from, they’re widely used. It’s no free lunch, there’s no guarantee a certain vibration control device will do anything, that it’ll be positive, or that you’re not buying a garbage tweak, but going to a pro audio accessory specialist like Isoacoustics is a solid move. I haven’t gotten GAIAs yet, but I’ll be putting them on the upcoming floorstanders I get. And they’re great on hardwood because of the cups.

Nice set up! I have the same DAC + Matrix unit dropped in via I2S connection. Do you agree that the Matrix delivers more than a subtle upgrade to the DAC?

Great to know. Thanks, Ben.

I have the same BDI cabinet. I just ordered a Salamander to replace it. For me there’s two issues. 1) The center two sections are nearly useless. There’s an immovable solid back which precludes the use of any full sized equipment. 2) The wheels are falling apart. If you roll the cabinet out from the wall enough times, sooner or later the wheels start to fall apart from the weight. When mine did, I didn’t notice until it was too late. The wheels left indentations where they rolled on our wood floors. When I called BDI the knew about the issue and sent me replacement wheels. Which meant completely emptying the cabinet to lift it high enough to replace them. It was zero fun.

Take a look at these:

I ordered the Barcelona Black 247 with a few mods including trimming the side panels so we could add casters. Look around on the left of the page for the video on some of the features. Also take a look at the available accessories. It’s approximately $3,000 USD.

If you live in the Portland, Oregon area, I’ll be selling my BDI after the Salamander arrives for $500. It’s in great shape.

I know the glass table is wrong but I like it

It’s vintage (Krell, Duntech, Transparant) mixed with modern (REL, Mytek, PS-Audio plant).

Then it’s not wrong  Imposing speakers

might be the first pair of Duntechs I’ve seen #onhere.

Proud owner of a Salamander Synergy for the last 10 years… new house, so I’m looking for a replacement and I’m considering a couple of the BDI units. Curious if your components run hot inside of the Barcelona as it has glass doors.
