Showing (off) your Roon setup - description and photos [2023]

I owned the PS4 and its VR system which used breakout boxes and a mechanical engineering degree to hook it up. That said, there were concerts that were free to view. One was Paul McCartney.

The PSVR2 has only one cable, but its technology requires/permits very find adjustments and if you set it up so that seating was your goal, you had better not stand up. It requires recalibration. And if you give the headset to someone with you, it has to be recalibrated for them.

That said, I watched the two demo VR games Horizon and Resident Evil Village…very remarkable, but, again, I fear that it does require a (n annoying to me) learning curve.

Not a gamer…but I own two PS5s.

Not freely available here, UK, just yet but I’ll certainly check it out (I’ll need a PS5 as well)…:+1:t4:

I’m a big fan of Los Straitjackets. Love your setup.

Forever tweaking  here’s the latest evolution. Lyngdorf TDAI-3400, Lyngdorf CD-2, Technics Sl-1500C through a Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 (on demo). Speakers are Kef Reference 1s on SolidSteel SS-5s. Roon runs on a dedicated Mac mini. I also have a Sansui tape deck and an old Arcam CD72 connected in the unit.

I have the same speakers, and love them, good choice. Have you tried pulling them out a bit?

I have, but prefer to keep the room space. The Lyngdorf amp “Room Perfect” makes a huge difference in balancing sound, plus the baffles are in front of the fire surround so it still sounds great.

Understandable, I bet they still sound great. I have mine out a bit and try hard not to knock into them. I moved them around quite a bit to start with measuring the effect in the room. Your room looks great too!

I should have mentioned that we also have two young kids who occasionally find their way in - despite the velvet rope across the door of this room!

Ah I’m jealous - have been wanting to pull the trigger on the Lyngdorf CD-2 for a while to go with my 2170 but it’s just stupidly expensive here in Australia (I know it’s somewhat pricey everywhere but here? Ouch!)

Yes, it’s over priced for sure. But it sounds wonderful, matches so well and I did get a great deal. That’s what I tell myself anyway!

I think the Dog Bed ought to be shifted to the Right a wee bit to improve the the Stereo image for the bed’s owner…?

Time for an Update / Upgrade on my main system:
I 've ended the aera of home theater 5.2 and shrinked to a nice Stereo Setup.

The Roon Core still runs on a NUC10i5, but the heart is now a NAD M33, driving a pair of Bowers &Wilkins 702 S2 and two DB4S to help out in the bass.

And of course I had to build a new Lowboard around this… I may have to change the metal feet to some wooden ones (special request from my loved one)

M33 sounds great so far! I still have to play a bit more with dirac.
And unfortunately I had a partial hearing loss on one ear just a day after the M33 arrived, still hope it’ll get over soon.

Looking at the product page for the M33… looks like a very nice unit. Checks a lot of boxes!
