Is there a specific error message you see? If so, please select from the following options:

Please try to reboot your Roon Server and check to see if this helps.
· Rebooting my Server had no effect, the issue remains
Please try to reboot and unplug/replug in your affected audio device and check to see if this helps.
· Rebooting and unplugging/replugging my audio device, the issue remains
Please open your Roon Remote and select the "System Output" Zone and try to play to it. Do you encounter any playback errors with this Zone?
· I don't have a System Output available, but I'd like to keep troubleshooting
Please try fully rebooting your network equipment
· No, I'm still having trouble
An issue with playback on System Output and another zone often indicates a network security problem. *Check your firewall(s)* to ensure that *Roon*, *RoonServer *and *RAATServer* are allowed to properly communicate
· I'm still having problems / This isn't relevant to me
Does the issue happen with local library music, streaming service music, or both?
· Both local and streaming content are affected
Please try playing content of a lower sample rate (44.1kHz or 48kHz). Do you still have the same issue?
· No, lower sample rates are still affected
What is the model/manufacturer of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?
· Innuos Statement + Roon
Describe the issue
Hi support, I have a client using Roon and Innuos Statement + Synology NAS for music storage. He has had this setup for about 4 years. Starting at the beginning of this year, he has experienced significant slow downs when searching for music. We have exhausted our options short of replacing equipment. I am reaching out to ask for advice.
The issue is when the client searches for music on his iPad or Windows computer on the same network, the search can take over 30 seconds to minutes at times to show results. When the NAS is disconnected from the network, the searching resumes back to a normal speed. It will pull results from the Statement music database and streaming services just fine. Is there a way to adjust the search logic? Is there settings we can set in Roon, or Innuos Statement or on the NAS to improve the search experience? There have been no changes to any of the devices as far as we know. There are no errors on the Synology NAS. It is set with Raid 0, connected via gigabit ethernet. Thank you!
Describe your network setup
ISP provided fiber ONT, Eero Pro router, Cisco Meraki switching, Cisco Meraki Wireless Access Points, NAS and statement are wired into the network. Network is flat.
Thank you for your post. We’d need to activate diagnostics for the affected machines to troubleshoot this issue more precisely than some general recommendations provided above.
The most efficient way to troubleshoot would be for the user to engage support directly so we can request those details.
Hi Fietser, I appreciate the response. I have gone through to review both the Roon Core server info and networking best practices. I’ve confirmed that IPv6 is disabled network wide, IGMP snooping is enabled, MTU is enabled, and other practices recommended are being followed. I will make some changes to see if there is any improvement. Thank you!
Hi Connor, thank you for the response. Can you provide details on how the user can engage support directly? The only way that I would know about is it post a topic for the community to answer.
Just so you know, although Roon recommends disabling IPv6 — and you are good to leave it disabled during your support ticket — it is not a great practice to disable it permanently. It’s a very “old-school IT” mentality to disable it.
As a matter of fact, you should read this:
FTA:
From Microsoft’s perspective, IPv6 is a mandatory part of the Windows operating system and it is enabled and included in standard Windows service and application testing during the operating system development process. Because Windows was designed specifically with IPv6 present, Microsoft does not perform any testing to determine the effects of disabling IPv6.
If disabling IPv6 doesn’t solve your problem, you are better off re-enabling it.
You can test your IPv6 configuration here, and I suggest you do everything within your power to support it throughout your network:
IOW, It’s 2024 and IPv6 is an expectation, not an option. Any equipment or software you are running that doesn’t support IPv6 is, quite literally, broken. Despite the knowlegebase link, Roon runs well when it is enabled (as it should). I run a full dual-stack network at home (including 3 Synology NASs, one of which is running Roon on NAS) with no issues whatsoever (although earlier versions of ARC did not play nice when I left my house and got a separate IPv6 address from my carrier…in recent builds, this seems fixed).
