Sonic transporter Roon server not findable after failed attempt to upgrade to 2.9

Describe your network setup

I believe this is due to Roon requirements ....how can i upgrade the linux on my sonictransporter

Hi @Ian_Clark

Welcome back to the Roon Community! I’m sorry to hear you’re running into issues finding your Roon Server after the recent update attempt.

To answer your question directly: because the sonicTransporter is a pre-built branded device, the underlying Linux operating system is managed by the manufacturer. To upgrade the OS so it meets the current Roon requirements, you will need to reach out to Small Green Computer directly.

I recommend checking their support documentation or contacting their technical support team for the exact steps to update your sonicTransporter’s firmware/OS.

Once the manufacturer’s OS update is complete, your Roon Server should start up normally and become discoverable again. If you run into any Roon-specific issues after that, please let us know and we’ll be happy to help!

Contact info is here:

I have updated to 2.8 using the instructions from SGC. Unfortunately although the web url says everything is in place and working………the servers not found by my remote.

What happens when you try to reach this address?

You should see a link to your server. Can you click on it and see if Roon Server is running?

Also, did you do the complete procedure to update your SGC?

See the post above yours with contact info for SGC who can help you with your SGC device

I have now successfully solved this problem. Small Green Computers upgrade completed but when it still wouldn’t work I replaced the Roon server with the latest one and, phew, all is well. Thanks for help everyone.
