Describe the issue

Sonos Era 100 is not working with Roon. I have set up Roon (latest Version - lifetime license) with Sonos One SL, Sonos Era 100 and other Devices (eg WiiM Pro Plus). Playing Music using Aiplay 2 in Roon works for all Devices EXCEPT Sonos Era 100 which does not play any sound. When using the Era 100 with iPhone Airplay it works well. I‘ve seen a similar issue in another post, but the thread was closed without being resolved. As it seems it is a Roon issue and already known by Roon. What is the status of resolving it? When can we expect the solution?

Describe your network setup

Eero 6 wireless network; wifi access point located just 3 meters from the devices (mac mini with roon server, sonos Era 100, sonos one SL, etc)

Hello @Helmut_Hemetsberger ,

Thanks for reaching out. Do the steps here by any chance help with the issue?

I tried this now (added all devices to Apple home) and it did not help. I‘ve followed the recommendation in every single step, but without any success. Sonos One SL is still working well! Sonos Era 100 is NOT. (Direct Airplay from eg iPhone is working well on One SL and Era 100; Roon with Sonos Stream from Room is also working well (but I need zone with sonos and other devices synchronized with Airplay). This is frustrating

Having the same issue. ERA 100 connected via Airplay 2, by itself or adding to any other Airplay grouping causes all music to stop, regardless of source.

this did not work. are you working on a solution?

This problem is now over 2 months old, I reported it on October 15, so they do know about the issue (it’s been reported multiple times at this point). They had said in my thread they are working it, but obviously they aren’t having much success.

@noris Having the exact same issue. This was not a problem until one of the last updates you did a couple months back. Is there a way to revert back to a previous build until this gets resolved?

Hi,
I have the Same Problem. Older Sonos Prducts working well with Roon via AirPlay 2 but Arc ultra and era Speakers don’t Work. With the Sonos Protokoll I have allways probems. The Roon App ( Android) sometimes did not Show the correct song or position and music sometimes stops playing.

that ist very frustrating.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience over the holidays. There’s a ticket in with Development - we’ll comment here as soon as we have an update on the current status of a potential solution.

Thank you. Patiently waiting.

I’m having the same issue. Very much looking forward to a resolution!

My problem is that I don’t have a reliable system. I’ve always had problems with the Sonos protocol (in the past, songs would skip unexpectedly, now Roon sometimes stops playing after a song). But since Airplay has worked reliably so far, I paid a lot of money to buy a lifetime Roon license. This way I was armed against the disastrous Sonos app and could also be open to other products that support Airplay. Now I have an expensive home theater system and a very expensive music server that don’t really do their job reliably. I think you understand that my patience is running thin at the moment. From my current perspective, I couldn’t recommend either Roon or Sonos.
