Description Of Issue

I initially tested Roon Core using my newer Macbook running 10.15.4 streaming to MC200. The sound quality seemed slightly better than on older laptop. Also, DSP worked better on newer Mac. DSP on older CPU tends to sound distorted. Does the CPU affect the sound quality and DSP capabilities?

CPU effects the level of DSP you can apply and to the amount of zone not necessarily . SQ Although some will argue excessive CPU activity causes unwanted noise . Also some will argue that different servers/computers will sound differnet anyway.

As an example upsampling to DSD is very extensive CPU process so better CPU will allow this with room to spare and perhaps allow convolution as well also very processor heavy or just apply upsampling to multiple zones at same time etc.
