Soundtracks Anybody?

Haha…pretty safe with this release basically. Somewhere well above I posted a series of softcore ‘pron’ movies Emmanuel and so on.

Hmmm…I may have to rekindle the flame & see what else I have in a similar vein.

Surprise, surprise, I am a fan of kitschy ‘pron’ groove. I’m still none the wiser what the films are like; just like the bulk of soundtracks I post. :upside_down_face:

IMHO, Ella is simply at her most glorious when singing just with piano accompaniment (in this case, Paul Smith). Hard to call the album a “soundtrack,” since in the film she sang only 2 or 3 of these songs. But the whole album is so good that it’s worth bringing up in the thread.

There’s always so much to post in this soundtrack section…and we all know I am a huge fan of Lalo. Seems I’ve missed this one:

Lalo Schifrin
The Four Musketeers (1974)

Is that a remake on the Yul Brynner film The King & I? By the cover art it seems to have a similar theme. I haven’t thought of that film since I was a kid. Yul used to fascinate me. It likely had a decent soundtrack also - I don’t have it.

That’s correct. It’s not a musical, however.

I enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack.

James Bernard
The Devil Rides Out (1968)

Hammer film time…

The soundtrack to Terence Fisher’s horror film wasn’t released on disc until 2002. One of Hammer Studios’ legendary stable of horror films, this movie stars Christopher Lee as a paranormal investigator who looks into a Satan-worshipping cult in London in 1929.

Mainly classical. Sorry, couldn’t find it on qobuz, but in my own library.

P.S.: Take a look at my icon

I tried to watch this movie 3 times so far. I never came to the end. For me it is so endless boring. But I know it is cult.

I think I know what you mean.
But the story is simply ingenious. If you want to watch this kind of film, take a look at “2010”, the follow-up. Very exciting, with Roy Scheider.
It’s not necessary to watch “2001”, but much more interesting then…

I got 2010 in the DVD collection. It was added by my son. So I’m going to watch it soon. Another movie similar to 2001 is “cargo”. I don’t know if the finally find the monster. I died before the end of the movie.

Just do it!

I haven’t seen Cargo till now, because I’m too busy because of listening (good) music all the time.

Gents 2001 a space odyssey is a sci fi classic (with a great soundtrack).

You have to go with it and just enjoy it, it generally helps if you just soak it up (for some a joint might help).

Can’t find that one via Roon or Qobuz app. :slightly_frowning_face:
