Soundtracks Anybody?

It’s dreadfull I thought when it came out. Much preferred the original.

It is one of the “must have seen” movies. If you work in IT, are a nerd, you must have seen Tron, Matrix. As a UNIX engineer of the first hour “the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy” was also such a must read. No matter if you liked it or not. If you did not do it, it degraded your professional reputation.

Ok so Sunday evening is Poker night. Last week I played the game with Death Metal filling my ears and it did not go as well. Tonight I was going to keep the movie soundtrack theme going. A great film as well as soundtrack that I own ov VHS video, DVD, Blue ray and bought in digital as well. I should know better.

Carlo Rustichelli
Rogopag (1963)

Jean-Luc Godard film…no idea if the film’s any good.

Gert Wilden Jr.
Schatten Der Zeit (Shadows of Time) (2004)

Golden Star nominated film.

German composer and conductor remained largely unknown, despite a large catalogue of film work, dating back to the 50’s, until the release of Schulmadchen Report. It was a compilation of his ‘semi-erotic’ work and more along the line of ‘easy-listening’/lounge music.

However, this showcases his skills as a classical composer. I think it stands alone well enough and the sound quality is good.

I do know the “Schulmädchenreport”; I think it’s very funny to compare it with today’s “semi-erotic” films.
The trailer of “Schatten der Zeit” tells too much about the film, as so often.

Schulmädchen Report was the first I heard about Wilden - so different from his classical compositions.

I’m just listening to the title theme of the smr, nothing more to find at Tidal. I even can remember, but this is not my favorite style.

Unfortunately, I never factor in Tidal, I only have my own library - sorry about that.

I would have thought Schatten Der Zeit would be on Tidal, it was a popular European film and winner of some awards across Europe (notably Austria?).

I prefer his classical to semi erotica. I like both genres, but if I’m thinking semi erotica I would choose another artist usually.

Oh, nearly forgotten: the soundtrack of the film “The Excorcist” from my favorite composer in the seventies, Mike Oldfield.
I don’t know, but probably it has been listed here yet…

Worth listening just because of my favorites on this album “Lady, Lady, Lady” from Joe Esposito and “Maniac” from Michael Sembello.

In light of the discussion above…

Gert Wilden & Orchestra
Schulnadchen Report (2005)

As I’ve not played it in years, it’s far better than I remember. Some super funky/psychedelic action style music here, amongst soft-core erotica music that’s also somewhat psychedelic.
