I have a repeatable issue affecting the use of Spotify on Ropieee.
The volume range available to Spotify is scaled from 0 to 100% where 100% is actually the current volume for my device as set in Roon. Eg. if the volume in Roon was left at, say 30%, when Spotify is set to 100% volume, it will actually be running at the 30% level, not real 100%. Turning volume up and down in Spotify works, but only within this constrained range.
This isn’t so bad if Roon was left at a good volume, but if left at a low volume on last play, it makes Spotify unusable without first going into Roon to turn the volume up.
I’m running RoPieeeXL 2023.02 (0729) on a Pi 4B 1.2, but as far as I can recall this problem has been around for a while and I note a similar post here from 2020: Roon Device Volume and Spotify Connect Volume
