Streamer with USB Audio Output vs Roon Server with USB Audio Output

Is there really any audible advantage when using a separate streamer (FiiO/Eversolo/WiiM for example) as a Roon Bridge with USB output to a DAC versus the USB output from a MacMini or Nucleus One that is also running the Roon Server? The DAC in question also has galvanic isolation for USB.

There should be no difference.

This is my “away from home” setup running Roon server and client on my Dell laptop with the iPads and my iPhone providing the cellular data and router function. I don’t like a direct USB connection of the Mojo 2 to the Dell. Say what you will, but the Dell USB is audibly noisy. The RPi4 is dead quiet. The computer and RPi4 connect via WIFI.

I recall several years back (before Roon) when I had my music on a Windows PC. The spinning hard drive was clearly audible on the USB output. I don’t know if there is less noise now with SSD’s, but I use RPi’s as endpoints with my Rock Nuc.
