Description of Issue
Since previous update, Roon is not able to login to my TIDAL account. It is stuck at âWaiting for Tidal loginâ after I log in at TIDALâs page. Today I installed the latest Roon update but it did not help. I already tried to change password at TIDAL, log off and on again in Roon, reboot the core machine, reboot my network devices. Nothing helped.
Does the issue reproduce if you try to use other web browsers to login to TIDAL? Or another Roon Remote to connect to the Core and try logging in via the Remote?
I tried with another mobile with Remote and the result is the same. On the Core machine I installed Chrome, and I can log in to Tidal in the browser but not within Roon. Same situation, it stucks at âWaiting for Tidal loginâ and nothing happens. Same if I click on âClick here if you were not redirectedâ - nothing happens.
Iâve just installed the latest update, but the problem still exists. I am not able to reach Tidal in Roon. Itâs getting annoying, I am paying the fees both of Tidal and Roon and I am not able to listen to it. And as I see in the other threads, not I am the only one with this issue. I know it is summer, but could you check the uploaded logs, please? It is named âPal_Madacsi Roon logs.zipâ
Apologies for the delayed response here, and thank you for sending the log files. I checked them, but unfortunately, I am not seeing any specific errors. In fact, I am not seeing your Roon Core show up in our remote diagnostic system at all, has the Core been powered off recently?
Since there are no other reports of this issue, we need to narrow down if the cause is your Roon Core or the network. Are you able to install the Roon app to another PC, set that as the Core, and see if it has the same behavior? You can also try to reinstall Roon on the primary PC to see if that helps, you can do so with the below instructions:
Yes, my audio pc (that is my Roon core) is equipped with clock based on heated cristal, so it is usually turned off to prevent aging. If you give me a time window I will leave it turned on for that time.
I installed Roon on my laptop, set up as core and works without any problem.
Then I set up the laptop as a remote and made a fresh install as you described on my audio pc and set it up as the core again, and finally I was able to reach my Tidal account if I logged in on the laptop.
Unfortunately it doesnât mean the problem is solved, because I cannot play anything from Tidal, and it seems synchronization with my Tidal account doesnât work, I cannot see my playlists, previous plays etc.
In the meantime I tried trial version of another player software on the same machine and it works fine.
Are you still having issues with TIDAL playback or has there been any change in behavior? If you are still having issues, can you access the Roon logs on the affected device by using these instructions and upload them to the following link and let me know once uploaded? Thanks!
Yes, unfortunately I still have the same issue with Tidal playback.
Now I use Roon in the following setup: my Roon core is my laptop, AudioPC is an endpoint. In this setup I am able to listen to music from Tidal. So I have to use both computers at the same time that I do not prefer, and I am not sure about there is no degradation of audio quality.
I uploaded the logs of my AudioPC to the link you gave, the name of the file is âPal_Madacsi Logs.zipâ
Are you still having this issue or have you been able to login? If you are still having difficulties, you can try to use a different default web browser, perhaps that is causing the blockage.
Yes, the situation is the same.
I use Win Server with AudioPhil Optimizer on my Audio PC, that means there is no graphic interface and a lot of services are shut down that are not necessary for audio playback. So there is no default browser at all. I was able to install Chrome, and it works fine, but I donât know how to make it default - maybe that is not even possible.
I guess that is the root of the problem, when I try to log in to Tidal, Roon redirects to the default browser, right? In my system this does not happen, so the process is stuck there.
Earlier, browser was not involved in the login process and it worked fine even on my PC.
Is there any plan to change the login process in the future?
