Description of Issue
Just started in the few days. Each morning my first attempt to use Roon is greeted with the “Uh oh” screen. The ROCK is up, but I cannot connect ROON to its core. A reboot resolves the issue until the following morning.
Yes just click reinstall and no it does not wipe anything, it just reinstalls the software and does not touch the database. But you should always have a current database backup, anyway
Will do, but now in the meantime I’ve now “Lost control” of all my Sonos One wifi devices Roon sees them all but I cannot play tracks. Rebooting everything makes no difference. Roon is working ok with my ethernet connected endpoints. The Sonos are active as I can talk to Alexa and get it to play Amazon music etc over the network, but not Roon?
I had a similar issue, except I was reading music from a nas that reset each day. It was frustrating to come to roon after a few days and want to listen to music and… nothing. I spent weeks trying to resolve it and it would come back intermittently. In the end it was resolved it by setting a schedule on the roon server to restart once daily. The hanging issue hasn’t returned since.
That’s interesting as my NAS shuts down overnight to save energy costs, but has been doing this for many months without issue. I can try and leave it on one night to see what happens.
You would have to set the roon server to reset after the time when the nas wakes. I think its related to how roon maintains a connection to storage locations and it varies between nas devices on how it handles reconnecting.
