Sun coast audio shows customer how “NOISY” roon software is

And if you can’t hear the difference then your system isn’t transparent enough or you are deaf…come to think of it they are the same reasons trotted out on various threads here when it suits.

Digital noise is the the modern day Boogeyman.

And just like the Boogeyman, it’s a figment of the imagination…

02:35 - I am done. Cannot take any more of that. 25 coats of BS.

It’s all about the layers:facepunch::sunglasses::+1::sob:

Anyone truth to this claim?

You will not find the answer to this question in this forum. You have to test yourself in your audio system.

They are not the only ones who say that other software and / or audio operating systems sound better than Roon.
This topic is not a surprise or a unique one…

Well it is Suncoast Audio, need I say more…

I’m in Canada and don’t know anything about sun coast audio. So please, do tell😎

They don’t sell Nucleus do they? Little wonder they would prefer to sell the Taiko server instead at 20x the price. ‘Noisy because of Peer to Peer/Napster etc’ is one I haven’t heard before. Comedians!

This chatters is really funny - but isn’t it just a deliberate game on emotions?
Zero information zero facts!
Will someone speak specifically to help us to evaluate that transmission?

Well having just spent 50k on the amp and 30 k on the speakers, you would be made to feel like a right cheapskate if you chose only a 1k server. They would wheel out the old ‘source is most important’ rule of thumb no doubt, previously used to steer people towards Linn Sondeks.

As a sound engineer I only can tell that I would be very ashamed of the sound quality of this video. It’s noisy as hell and it sounds pretty bad.

Notice…They did not say anything about the Roon settings they used for Roon. They could have set up its DSP settings to make it sound bad.

Your right they never said anything about settings, and never backed up their claims with evidence!

“Roon is built on a peer-to-peer platform. Remember Napster?”

Yeah, trust the guys who tell you that Roon is like Napster.

I think you got the wrong post you replied to: your comment has nothing to do with my post. Please correct.

Important that the volume be at 29.5; that decimal point means it’s really detailed.

And all that Roon “data” crashing around! No wonder it’s so noisy! Like a rock tumbler, you know? A Napster rock tumbler. Not to mention all the graphics the Core is doing!

It does remind me of a dealer I knew who had good kit on one side of the shop and stuff with gold finishes, rare earth elements and complicated raison d’etre for “idiots and their bonuses”.
