Surround loses center channel when convolution enabled

I prefer using HAF filters via Roon’s convolution engine for room correction, which is no problem when playing stereo material. 5.1 or 7.1 surround titles, however, have no center channel until I disable convolution. ???

System is Mac USB to miniDSP U-DIO-8 converter’s SPDIF into Meridian processor.

I’m not an expert here but have some DIY convolution experience. What you’re not hearing is probably the result of applying a stereo convolution impulse to multi channel audio (resulting in stereo?). Convolution is applied per channel and I think you’d need appropriate 5.1 and 7.1 convolution filters. Then Roon has to support multichannel convolution as well, not sure if it does or not.

You are correct, killdozer: multichannel filters are needed, which I just received from Thierry at HAF. They work great with Roon’s convolution engine.
