Sync issues and poor metadata accuracy with unsatisfactory support (ref#6WW1VA)

What’s happening?

· Other – My issue isn’t listed above

Describe the issue

Sync doesn't work and the metadata is poor and inaccurate. The community support doesn't help and the tech team just ignore you. I don't understand why people like Roon

Describe your network setup

I've input this many times and got no support. Roon support is extremely poor

This is your first post in 2 1/2 years.

I like Roon because it is the most complete and full featured music curation system available. Yes, it needs investment and adherence to the guides on set up and usage; but the results are sublime.

Ask for specific help, understand what Roon can and cannot do, invest in the most suitable equipment and then sit back and enjoy the music!

Hello @domocon ,

Thanks for reaching out. I am looking over your post history, but I too don’t see any other requests for support from your end. All technical support is handled right here on the Community website, so reaching out the way you just did is the best way to get in contact with us. Can you please provide more details regarding the metadata and sync issues you are experienceing, perferably with screenshots? Thank you!

Hi @domocon,

We’re very eager to assist and we’re sorry you’ve felt abandoned on this forum in the past.

We will, however, need a little more information concerning your current Roon setup and network topology. Specifically, we need to know the specific grouped Zone with which you’re having issues, including the make/model of all endpoints and their network connection type (WiFi/ethernet).

Are the endpoints in this group separated by powerline adapters?

Several years ago you mentioned that a network topology involving a Deco router and powerline adapters, but it’s not clear where RoonServer and the B&W endpoints are configured in this topology.

We strongly recommend avoiding powerline adapters, as they’ll often handle multicast unpredictably and/or introduce interference sufficient to break the audio stream with RAAT’s uncompressed protocols.

In general, Roon requires a simple, reliable network topology to transport hi-res audio without dropping samples or encountering clock sync issues. You can read more about the topology and settings we recommend here:

We’ll watch for your response.
