Does you Synology have the CONTAINER app available [I know not all of them support that feature]? Have you thought of making it a docker image instead, this way, you remove any compatibility issues…
That would make it unsupported vs. the RoonOnNAS package, which is supported.
I haven’t upgraded yet, but I don’t see any reason why the current RoonOnNAS package should stop working.
Totally agree with you - with the following exception: Have you ever actually used “support” here?
there are tickets open since before the dawn of man.
Probably have to go to the roononnas.org site and ask when they plan to confirm 7.3x…I do believe there is a DSM on DSM feature I read a while back (virual dsm you can run) - not sure that is worth the hassle.
of course, you could upgrade to 7.3 and if roononnas fails, temporarily run a docker image while waiting on Chris and team to patch…
fun times..good luck.
There are no major architectural differences between 7.2 and 7.3 (same for 7.1 to 7.2, etc.). @crieke only needs to make changes for major revsions, like 6.x to 7.x.
It does on my 723+, no changes vs 7.2.
Cheers
Has anyone been successful with a Fresh 7.3 install ? fails for me with invalid package. (tried legacy and the others)
Sounds like “incompatible architecture”. Please note that Roon Server runs only on x86 and compatible processors and not on ARM (or MIPS).
yep - I had it running for years, worked after the upgrade from 7.2 to 7.3.
Then for some reason (empty logs) it would not, deleted the package, tried to reinstall …
Invalid file format…
Please check your NAS for malware. If this is no it, consider frequenting Synology support resources.
Right - thanks.
Hopefully someone will reply to my question ![]()
