Tag Issues After Qobuz Service Outage

Qobuz Japan, album count in lib is still stuck at 52, and of course I have way more ‘my favorites’ then that.

Qobuz Japan, all albums back but lose like 30% of tags, have to re-organize them manually.

Most liklely because you “manually added releases back” during the distruption.

It’s really important to hold your nerve during such distruptions, and to preserve your database as-is – this holds all data about your collection. The problem was essentially equivalent to disconnecting a USB drive, i.e., albums will disappear, but return when storage is reconnected.

Before making further changes, double-check that you don’t have multiple versions of the same Qobuz album. You may find that you have one that’s tagged, and one, added manually during the disruption, that does not.

Hi @Gabriel_Huang,

We wanted to reach out to assist with the final steps of restoring your content from the Qobuz outage that occurred between Jan 17 - 24.

Do you have a recent Backup from before January 17? Try restoring a Backup and then allowing the earlier version of your library from before the outage to sync with Qobuz’ servers once again.

Actually I already restored to Jan. 11 backup before the albums start to coming back (I did the restore probably @Jan. 26), but some tags are still lost.

Oh and BTW, I noticed the tag issue “after” I confirmed all the albums are back, and than I started to add the tags manually.
So the timeline is:
noticed Qobuz album lost →
post issues in forum →
saw some ppl got their albums back →
the scheduled backup being triggered on Jan. 25 →
I decided to restore to the Jan. 11 backup because I think the Jan. 25 backup won’t work. →
Confirmed all albums back on Jan. 26 →
At the same time noticed some tags are lost->
added lost tags back manually.

Hi @Gabriel_Huang,

We’re investigating this report closely. If you restore the same Jan. 11 backup now that your entire Qobuz album has resynced, do these tags reappear? We’ll pull diagnostics as you perform this test.

We’ll watch for your response. Thanks!

Did the restore, looks like still few tags are missing from album, for example I have a tag ‘孤獨搖滾’

This album I have a local file and also a Qobuz in lib, I believe I tagged both, but the Qobuz one don’t have the tag now, while the local file one still have the tag.

Hi @Gabriel_Huang,

We’ve since patched a few corrections in relation to Qobuz syncing - are you still running into issues?

Can you provide more detail around your Jan 25th backup not working? And with that, are you positive the Jan 11th backup contained the tags that are missing?

Thank you!

Hi @Gabriel_Huang ,

If you try to create a new backup and restore that new backup to Roon, does the Tag by any chance restore and start to work?

The Jan 25th is a scheduled automatic backup, and that happened when part of the Qobuz albums missing, so I think the Jan 25th backup is not a good backup since some albums are missing.
And Yes, I think the Jan 11th backup contains tags missing.

Tried to back and then restore immediately, tags are looking good.

Hi @Gabriel_Huang,

We wanted to check in one final time to verify - are you still seeing your Tags properly restored?
