Marnatz and TEAC 501 are working fine, but only the TEAC 701 is not functioning properly — so it would be best for the Roon team to review this case. Also, since there’s no issue when using MPD/DLNA via mConnect, this further suggests that the issue may lie within Roon’s handling of the TEAC 701.
And Andreas — you mentioned that you ‘used the filter’. Could you please share detailed information about that filter?
You referred to a convolution filter, but we would really appreciate it if you could explain exactly where and how it was set up. Please provide as much detail as possible. If possible, sharing some screenshots would be very helpful for us to fully understand the configuration.
Interesting notice in diagnostic. I’m only using Roon with both Tidal and Qobus. I have Tidal installed in my Mercedes but should not be active at the same time.
Of course I tried different setups, Qobus connect, DLNA etc etc
But for having music at all I’m using the Teac as a Roon ready client. I have take screenshots and if there is any thing else you want me to test or if you need to connect via team viewer or similar, let me know.
The software for creating the convolution filter is called REW. And the calibration is done by a skilled professional sound engineer (also Peter at scanaudio use his services). And the convolution filter works with my Marantz SA10 as a DAC.
Frederick here - Andreas speaker calibrator. The convolution filter used in Roon is created with REW and does speaker calibration - frequency and phase calibration.
As far as I know, it doesn’t affect the problem that Andreas is experiencing with the TEAC DAC.
Thank you for the information. We are currently working with our partner team to determine what the issue is. We can also confirm that after our internal research, TEAC works flawlessly with Nucleus via USB, so it does not appear to be a Roon software issue.
Thank you for the update but we still do not see the firmware version, would you kindly try to access the sMS-2000’s web interface. Then, go to the System Setup section. If there’s a yellow upgrade icon, it indicates a newer version is available. You can also find the firmware version under the System Upgrade section or by clicking “Kernel Check”
Our partners will continue investigating this issue, though it may take some time. The firmware version you’ve provided matches the version that should be working as expected. To help narrow things down, we’ll also be testing a minimal Linux build on our side to confirm.
We’ll go ahead and close this thread for now, as we don’t need any additional information or have immediate next steps yet. Once we have additional progress to share, we’ll reopen the thread and notify you directly.
