I’m Kinda interested in the Transport to replace my Raspberry Pi4 solution
I’ve just recently acquired a UD507 from Teac that features their Discrete FPGA Dac.
Im Impressed by the unit and now I’m considering getting the Streamer as well since it has a roon exclusive mode .
The Unit looks extremely well made and I will just add some pictures.
It’s also rather pricey.
The TEAC NT-507T is priced at US$2499, €1799 or £1799.
But I’m sure there will be open box deals and during sales it should be more in the 1300-1400 euro range.
This would put it right there in the same range with a Eversolo T8 or a Rivo Plus.
It looks great, but I do wonder about the price, for just a streamer, and one without a display at that.
I have the UD-505, and may upgrade to the 507 if I see a good price. But if I were after a streamer to sit next to it, I prefer the new Quad (at an even sillier price). Or a WiiM. This is all digital streaming, so no need to spend a fortune, surely?
I asked already the customer support of Teac but never got a reply.
I wonder if it’s possible with the NT507T and it’s roon RAAT mode to output Native DSD via usb to the Teac UD507 that I’m using as a Dac
Currently I do DoP with DSD256 and that’s great and plenty fine really.
I’m just curious if that Teac streamer that runs on their own software will support Native DSD/DSD512 or if this still will be only possible with their own streaming software or with Roon as well.
The NT507T will get a limited release in Germany in January. But more units should be available sometimes in February/March.
Im enjoying my UD507 just so much as dac and headphone amp that I keep coming back to the NT507T as possible streamer
The competition is strong with the Eversolo T8 and T10 but I absolutely don’t want anything with a display in my setup besides a iPad as Roon Remote.
also I believe the Eversolo don’t support AirPlay anymore and NAA is also buggy?
The Volumio streamers also seem to have software issues.
There would be the Holo audio red but i don’t want a red streamer. And the LHY raspberry pi 4 pro solutions look nice but they are 1200€ for fancy Pi4 .
So I keep waiting for more reviews of this NT507T to show up.
There is also the Silent Angel Munich M1T and of course Lumin U2 for malto dollars! Ideally I think I would like a ROON core straight to my Ayon Stratos in exclusive mode but I am not sure if any device that might work. My heart wants the Lumin but reality will probably be a nucleus and the Teac. Already have a switch that I can try SFP connection out of.
The Teac has many useful features going on that kinda justify the price.
Teac Bulk Transfer mode (similar to Diretta).
The G4 network engine is the same software that Powers way more expensive Esoteric Gear. The boards look even nearly the Same.
And I believe the software underneath it is a Oem software made by Lumin.
The Linear Powersupply with the toroidal and all the isolation.
The aluminum Chassis.
But the lack of NAA as HQplayer endpoint is really something that bothers me.
Also I’m not sure if the NT507T actually was really released.. all there seems to be are a few units for reviews and a few units on the Japanese market.

I’ve been playing with the NT507T for a couple weeks. It can handle native DSD up to DSD512 perfectly. Black units are in stock at a few USA dealers but silver units typically have to be special ordered with a 3 week wait.
Oh, tell us more about using the streamer with Roon! Is everything working flawlessly? Are you using the fiber connection? What does the rest of your system look like, and what streamer did you use before?
So a bit of background, the other streamers I have on hand are the Denafrips Arce and the Technics SL-G700M2. All three sound basically the same. I even went above and beyond with the Denafrips Arce doing the dual external clocks with my Denafrips Terminator 15th DAC… and I couldn’t tell a difference. The Denafrips Arce didn’t have Qobuz Connect or Tidal Connect and was just limited to Roon. The major problem I had with it was it gave me playback errors. About every hour I would encounter a single audio drop out or stutter which got annoying. The other problem was the backend firmware being a proprietary Denafrips thing which they stopped supporting since last Summer, so it would not update to the latest Roon Bridge firmware like a typical network streamer. With the Technics SL-G700M2, I did catch an audio drop out every now and then but it was very rare, maybe a 3 times total. I never used Wifi with any of these network streamers by the way. The only real problem I had with the Technics was that it couldn’t play DSD natively so it had to resort to DoP. Now with the Teac-NT507T, early on I had a technical problem with my Roon not working and tried contacting TEAC USA’s tech support. They responded to my email about 4 days later and just told me to hang tight so they weren’t any help. It took me more than a week to stumble upon the solution which was to restart my Roon server. I tested Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect and Roon. I played a lot of DSD albums, and dabbled with sample rate conversion all the way up to DSD512 with no issue. I have it connected to my Unifi Cloud Gateway Fiber so I have the option of doing a fiber connection, but I don’t have the cabling and I’m satisfied with the regular ethernet for now.
and still no real user reviews at all.
