The roon app on miy iPad can't communicate with the roon server on my Synology NAS

@John_Mullins have you had any more luck with this? I had another thought - an obvious question I should have asked. What DSM version is your NAS currently running?

Hi Brenda. Iā€™m running version 6.2.25376.

You might consider to upgrade to the latest DSM 6.2.4.xxx.
Not saying this solves your problem, but there is a bunch of security issues fixed.

OK, now running version 6.2.4.2556, but still the same problem.

Thank you to everyone who attempted to help me with my ROON/Synology NAS problem. I am pleased to report that through lengthy discussions and late night on line help from Christopher Rieke, my issues are now resolved and I am enjoying trouble free use of ROON, via my Synology NAS. It appears to me that the root of the problem was related to the Synology fire wall, which has now Ben resolved. Many thanks to Chris, for your dedication and help.
