From when The Kinks recordings were difficult to find on this side of the pond. One of the holy grails for US fans of The Kinks.
An oldie but goodie. The album jacket is in much worse shape than the vinyl. The vinyl was well cared for over these many years and sounds wonderful. Originally purchased on the day it was released in the USA.

how is the Quintessence pressing?
Nice. A bit crackly, like a lot of the older stuff in my collection, but that’s on me, of course. It is not as dynamic or rich as the ffrr Jalas recording – I love “The Tempest” suites on that one.
Perhaps Quintessence was a kind of budget label.
