Although is way off topic:
The absolute best multichannel music release that I’ve ever heard is Bjork’s Medulla on SACD. Recorded and mixed for multichannel playback, not remixed for multichannel or Atmos.

I have a lot of Bjork in my library, but not that one.
I will have to go hunting for it thanks.
Well mixed (not automated computer mixes) multi channel can sound really good and a natural extension of the original music. I have been enjoying the SDE series very much. Never thought I would enjoy them until I tried some playback of SACD rips
There were a couple of competing systems back in the 70’s QS. and SQ , I remember them well, never really took off partly because of there being two formats.
Having tracked a copy down on eBay, my SACD turned up today and was duly ripped and put onto Roon
A truly stunning mix as you said
CD-4 and Sony SQ was a short lived competition like the later emerging VHS vs. Betamax. Owning technology as it emerged, even if it did not survive, was, an interesting and fun adventure. Many bought CD-4 and SQ not so much for the sound as for the interest in gadgetry. There was a Frank Zappa album that made auditioning these formats interesting. It may be in the recesses of the record collection.
QS was jvc if I remember right.
1001 albums random album of the day and the first I have had on vinyl. It felt obvious that I had to play it that way
I have same subs
(A pair of S/812’s? My system is modest, but the addition of the subs really helped for those times when I have opportunity to listen. The Elac’s and their sub is for SONOS + Pandora. SONOS has been a great home and office addition since it allows for a background environment 24/7 in both locations.)
did not expect the colored vinyl when I ordered it; sounds much better than the equivalent stream from Qobuz/Tidal.
Very nice setup sir!
I recently took delivery of the little brother:
I’m really enjoying this! (Both the player and the album!)
thank you; is that a 1210GR, or the new 1300?
It’s the GR2, and it appears to be a very well put together turntable. The only thing i have objections about is the tonearm lift, it’s a bit flimsy and doesn’t measure up to the rest of the package.
