There are two installations of Roon on my PC?

As I can’t use my older MacBook Pro as Remote for Roon 2.0 anymore (not comptible with Catalina) which I have used mainly as Roon Remote, and as I wont throw it away now cause it is build to last 100 years, is more than enough to play videos and write Emails and WhatsApp Mesages, and was my best Roon Remote so far, and still looks like new, I want to use it as Roon Remote with opening a Remote Desktop Connection to my Roon Core PC. But it seems there are two Roon Installations on my core PC allthough there is only one installation shown in my PC Apps, see Pics.

Now I don’t know what to do, SCHACHTEL is my Roon core, should I now update core on “Dieses Gerät (PC)” which is the same PC, too? Or how could i delete it, as it is not shown in installed apps.

Roon 2,0 is compatible with macOS 10.15 as a minimum, i.e., it works with Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, and Ventura (when released.) Therefore, upgrade Roon on your older MacBook, and you should be good to go.

sorry, my MacBook Pro is not compatible with at least Catalina, it is running High Sierra, that’s what I wanted to say.

Okay, in that case, you won’t be able to install Roon 2.0 on that MacBook. You have a choice: either stick with 2.0, with the new features, recognizing that you can’t use it with the old MacBook, or downgrade to 1.8.

If you wish to downgrade, please see this guide.

looking further I think “SCHACHTEL” is the Roon Core=Server installation, whereas “Dieses Gerät (PC)” is the Roon Remote installation. I was confused from the first day using Roon, that there is no separate Roon Server and Roon Remote Installer, never wanted to use my PC as Roon Core AND Roon Remote which is not recommended anyway.

So I have updated the “Dieses Gerät (PC)” too, which is obviously the Roon Remote Installation and everything works flawlessly. I think if there would be different installers for Core and Remote I could still use my old MacBook as Remote as only the Core needs at least Catalina technically I think.

However, now I am using my PC as Core AND Remote over RDP with my MacBook.

I would never go back, which was not my question anyway. ARC works perfect, I love to have my Roon with me now everywhere, thank you Roon :+1:
