Through which device to send 5.1 sound to active speakers?

I have a multiroom in different rooms made on active speakers and I send music to them through Room Ready. I want to put 5.1 sound in the TV room, but so that I can use active speakers and an active subwoofer. What equipment is suitable for sending 5.1 sound to active speakers (without a wire), provided that it supports the stereo mode of Room Ready

Welcome to the forum!

Do not quite understand your goal. Do you have 5.1 music files in your library which you want to play on a 5.1 surround sound system? Or which other surround source are you referring to?

Or you are planning to play 2 channel material using some kind of blowup routine?

Roon is capable of handling surround sound (5.1 or 7.1), but the number of hardware to do that wirelessly is not high.

Not exactly.
I am installing a large house and making a multiroom on active speakers. When I approached the TV room, I thought while installing the active speakers, could they be used as a 5.1 cinema sound output? But I did not find any equipment that could feed them 5.1 sound over the air.

That is surely possible, but I do not quite understand what the source is in this case. The TV (with HDMI-ARC output)?

Which active speakers do you use?

1.For now, none - I will buy. I need advice on what to buy.
2. ZUMA

1.At this point, nothing - I will buy. I need advice on what to buy.
2. ZUMA

Someone advises to use Apple TV, but it only works with AirPods and does not support third-party speakers, producing pseudo-stereophony

From how I understand the specs, these are WiFi speakers not supporting any protocol which is allowing 5.1 sound or grouping single speakers to a 5.1 setup.

Even if they would, the key question is where the 5.1 source would be coming from. Roon does support 5.1 streaming from local storage (for example a NAS), but no hardware known to me offers HDMI-ARC input nor does the standard ´roon ready´ certification ensures 5.1 compatibility.

Most wireless protocols allowing 5.1 sound rely on compatible speakers, such as WISA.

Yes, I was leaning towards VISA, but I had hope that I wouldn’t need to buy additional acoustics. I wanted to do with ZUMA.

So, there is no hope of finding anything that could deliver 5.1 sound to native speakers.

Thank you for saving me from a long search.
