Describe the issue

I have a subscription to Tidal and Qobuz. I noticed that the same album from Tidal is handled differently than Qobuz, even though the resolution is the same, mostly 192khz / 24bit FLAC. I know that Tidal no longer uses MQA, but why does my DAC show Tidal at 44.1 and Qobuz at 96?

Describe your network setup

Roon server (Windows 11) is connected to a hub (EERO)via ethernet cable, which is connected to a Windows 10 computer via ethernet cable connected to the same hub running the MyTek Stereo 198 driver to the 198.

Do you have Tidal streaming quality set to Max? Also, a lot of the Tidal MQA albums have been replaced with CD quality (44.1/16), at least for now. Roon and Tidal are not fully sync’d yet.

EDIT: By the way, Tidal still streams and plays a lot of MQA albums in Roon.

Thanks. I’ll check the settings for Tidal and wait for them to catch up on the MQA conversions.

Tidal metadata is a bit hit and miss at present whilst they transition away from MQA.

I would recommend looking a Roon’s Signal Path, which is always accurate, and compare the Qobuz vs. Tidal.

Post them up on here, if you wish, for comment.
