I am an enthusiastic Roon user, together with Tidal. Tidal in the Roon area worked very well until recently.
I use Spotify on my mobile and in the car, it always works perfectly and has by far the best algorithms for new music. Roon ARC is far too heavy and only causes mobile disruptions and freezes continuously, and for me it has no added value compared to Spotify.
At home I have invested a lot in expensive hi-fi components and acoustics to enjoy high music reproduction. However, I notice that I use TidalConnect or Spotify more and more for playback.
Roon is becoming increasingly annoying, updates for everything, playlists disappearing, new music (Tidal) not available in Roon, etc.
If you contact Roon @support you will get vague answers from e.g. Vadim: Roon Staff that the problem was detected was more than 6 weeks ago.
I’m getting more and more excited to stop using Roon, due to annoyance, vague answers Roon, high costs for what…, constant updates for other problems. Crappy algorithms for new music.
The advice is to stop using ARC for the time being, no added value at all compared to Spotify, just more problems! And make Roon perfect and the best it can be!!
I really used to like Roon with Tidal. The write ups were terrific and really added to my listening enjoyment … until recently, like in the last month … I’ve seen some comments regarding the Mac book and sequoia OS having trouble with Roon and I have tried some of the suggestions but I haven’t solved the problem…
Maybe Roon hasn’t solved the problem.
Did I miss a solution that addressed the Roon-Tidal-Macbook issue?
I hate to cut the cord, it worked so well, until it didn’t.
Well maybe I spoke too soon… someone (Roon) suggested I deauthorize my MacBook and hit restart… and it worked. I was able to connect my Qobuz account (I had ended my Tidal account after my first few days trying to fix the Roon issue).
