TIDAL login lost on reboot

Thats what I am seeing with the latest update, 537. It gives me a tidal login error asking me to retry or edit. When i hit retry, it takes me to the Tidal login website and once I login, it works. But its doing it every time I start roon. Did not happen with 536 for me.

I too restart my ROON CORE everyday and am seeing the Tidal Login issue every time I restart.

Hi @Pete_Mehtz,

So we can better assist you, please provide a brief description of your current setup using this link as a guide.

Make sure to describe your network configuration/topology, including any networking hardware currently in use, so we can have a clear understanding of how your devices are communicating.

Mine still is not fixed. Its still asking me for the Tidal Login at startup with Retry/Edit error message. Once I input the Tidal Login info, it logs me in in via the separate Tidal website. My setup is nothing special. I have a 2015 12 inch MacBook with 8GB memory and 512 GB SSD connected via LAN to my router that is two feet away, in plain sight. I did not have this issue with the last release 536. Thanks.

Hi @Pete_Mehtz,

I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.

However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.

First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.

3 posts were split to a new topic: Need to log in to TIDAL every startup

HI Dylan,

It just happened (4:36pm central time, 04/29/20), when I restarted Roon. I clicked restart and it took me to the separate Tidal page. Once I login again, it goes back to the Roon startup page. Also while you are looking at the diagnostics, can you check why my songs just stop playing? I have to press play again and its good for a while, but stops again. I have the Roon Radio on. Thanks.

So it’s been 3 days and absolutely no response from Roon tech support. And it seems like we get the same canned response from roon. Tell us what system and what time it happens. Unbelievable.

Hi @Pete_Mehtz,

The team is continuing to investigate this issue and I spoke with them this morning about the current status and their analysis of the diagnostics report.

We’re seeing something a bit different in your report that we’re hoping we can understand a bit better:

We’re seeing a number of errors like the above related to the /Users/pmehta/Pictures/Photos directory. Can you share a screenshot of Settings > Storage so we can take a look at what all Roon is accessing?

Thanks!

Hi,

I just checked my settings/Storage page and only thing I am seeing is all my music directories listed. Nothing to do with my Photos directory. Also looks like more people are having the same issue, so it’s probably a global issue. I did not have this issue with version 536. It all started with 537. And it happens every time I start Roon. Thanks,

A post was split to a new topic: Tidal error and asked to login again

Hi @Pete_Mehtz,

Apologies for not being clear here — We don’t believe that this is specifically related to the issue you’re experiencing as this is not something that we are seeing in the diagnostics reports of others who are experiencing this same issue. We are continuing to investigate this issue broadly, but the report from your install had other errors that we are hoping to understand.

Are you making backups to the directory seen in the error above? Have you entered this path into Roon at all for anything?

ok, I have changed that directory in Roon to only point to the Music subdirectory. Hopefully this will resolve this error. Will wait for the broader Tidal/Qobuz login issue fix.

Is there a specific directory I would use for Roon backups? I have not done a backup yet. But will today, since I have around 10,000 albums.

BTW: I am having a blast using Roon on a daily basis. Still learning my way around, but so far so good. Will definitely sign up for the annual membership, when my 1 month trial ends !!

Thanks.

Hi @Pete_Mehtz,

I met with the team about this today and it sounds like we’ve made some great progress here. I can’t specify any timelines just yet but we are hoping to have something soon!

No, there is no specific directory you need to use for Roon backups. You can learn more about the backup options here in our KB.

I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying Roon! Always feel free to reach out if you have any questions :headphones:
