To be honest it’s crazy that roon needs a supercharged DNS service to run.
I’m not sure where you are in the world, but Quad9 is pretty slow in some regions, topping 90ms with an average of about 30ms. You may fare even better with Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1.

I’m in Johannesburg, South Africa, Martin. I’ll definitely try your suggestions, but honestly, you nailed it! Tidal tracks play pretty much instantaneously. Got a friend over now (who’s not into Hi-Fi) listening to my system: he’s blown away by the music!
