Hi, I've just signed up for your trial in the hope of playing multi room. I have a pc with my music on the hard drive and a google nest speaker. I can play fine on the nest, I can play fine on the PC but what i don't have is the option to group them. I've been using media monkey for it in the past but thought I would check out Roon but I don't understand how to troubleshoot and a search didn't pull any information. Thank you for your help. Describe your network setup
router is a NOW Broadband one. PC is hard wired and nest is connected via a TPLink Extender.
I suspect that your Google Nest speaker is using Chromecast to stream to the speaker whilst the PC will be using RAAT (the protocol used by Roon Ready endpoints).
Unfortunately, Roon can not group endpoints that use different streaming protocols (RAAT, Airplay, Chromcast).
Following up on your thread, if @Wade_Oram is correct in regards to your devices running on different streaming protocols, you unfortunately won’t be able to group them. Here’s more info:
