Hi Roon! I have received an update to voice control Roon ARC via my car radio. Should this be wired or via Bluetooth? I read that I have to download the APP Google Assistant...I did that...but I don't understand what to do and how it works...I would like your help...thanks!!
In an Android Auto setup, Voice Control with Google Assistant allows you to safely engage with your music library in ARC without taking your hands off the wheel. We usually recommend a USB-C connection to the car’s Android Auto head unit, as a hardwired connection is more reliable than Bluetooth. However, Google Assistant works using the phone’s own microphone. I’ll explain further:
Once Google Assistant is enabled, Google’s voice interpretation will conduct the phone and ARC app to follow your verbal commands quite accurately, playing back music through your car speakers.
Try this:
Plug ARC into the car head unit and initiate Android Auto. Make sure Google Assistant is enabled. Say “Hey Google” to activate Google Assistant voice interpretation, and then verbally ask to play something from your library. This can be a simple command: “Play James Brown.”
If Google Assistant is unable to open ARC, make sure you’ve set ARC as the default music app in your Android settings.
