After installing Windows 24H2, no access to Roon Rock from Windows Explorer.

Thank you for your post.

Windows updates have a tendency to either reset the Defender firewall safelist or reconfigure Group permissions for network sharing.

Please first verify that RoonServer.exe and other processes associated with Roon are safelisted in the Windows Defender firewall.

Hello Connor,
I checked the firewall settings you mentioned. The entries under Roon are all correct.
My PC is a fresh installation of Windows 24H2. I can no longer find the “Rock” in Explorer. On a 23H2, however, I can.
I purchased a lifetime license in 2023.
What does Roon intend to do? The internet is full of complaints about access problems after installing 24H2?

This is a known issue caused by Microsoft tightening security. The username and password is still guest and guest, to access Roon OS, but now you have to tell Windows that it’s OK to connect to your ROCK system as well.

Read this article on how to solve it. Start at step 6 if you have Windows 11 Pro, or step 8 if you have Windows 11 Home.
