Describe the issue

I have a QNAP TVS472XS nas and after the latest Roon update have not been able to access my Roon server. I have read the forums and now installed the container station and after have followed the detailed instructions on the Roon website moving the app to container station. After hours of trying I am unable to reinstate the service . I can now see the service is connecting to Tidal but Roon will not play (says too many failures to start) what is going on I am totally frustrated if there is no logical fix , and a direct route to the support team then I will terminate my subscription

Describe your network setup

I have a TP-Link router connected to a tp link deco system and prior to this update the system worked satisfactory

Hello @Barry_Knight ,

Thanks for reaching out. I activated diagnostics for your account and according to the error logging, it looks like Roon is trying to play TIDAL mp3 files. Do FLAC files also have this issue? What is your streaming quality set to in Roon Settings → Services → TIDAL? Live radio is working properly?

Thankyou for your response I have checked the streaming quality and it is set to 96kps and I cannot change it for some reason before the update I was streaming at the highest quality . I still cannot get the music to play ( the message is Too many failures stopping playback) all the graphics etc are visible .

Do you have an active Tidal subscription? Perhaps there is an issue with your Tidal account

Yes I do and have had this since last August. I have tried Tidal directly without going though Roon and it works perfectly and on max and high resolution. I have noticed that when I select a track via Roon it is trying to flick though some songs quickly before it displays the message of “failed”

Are you absolutely sure you are logged into the exact same paid for Tidal subscription inside of Roon?

And that the password is entered correctly.

This is a common error we see.

Hello thanks for your reply, I have double checked and found that you were correct. The log in for tidal went though and I have now double checked the log in details and this was for the account set up for the initial trail before i subscribed. I have put in the correct details and it Roon and the Tidal does work . Please hold the item open as I have yet to connect correctly to my old backups. I need some time to double check the information . Many thanks for your assistance
