What type of connection issue?

· Something else

Describe the issue

Cannot boot roon nuceus from my mac. Running OSX 14.7

Describe your network setup

Asus router Can connect to Mytek Brooklyn Bridge 2, but not the mac mini

Is your problem with a Nucleus or the Mac Mini? At first you say “cannot boot roon nuceus” but then you say you can’t connect to the Mac Mini.

Hey @donherring,

Thanks for writing in! We’re not able to see any signs of a Nucleus tied to your account, only the Mytek device.

How is your Nucleus tied into your network? Can you get a direct ethernet connection hooked up from the Nucleus to your primary router?

It may be worth double-checking your subnets as well, to confirm all your Roon devices are on the 192.168.50 scheme.

We’ll be awaiting your reply, thanks!

I cannot boot Roon from my Mac. Call it anything you like. It does NOT boot. I have had this issue for months. Cannot sell Roon devices. It used to work.

Hello @donherring ,

I am not seeing the Mac show up at all in your account diagnostics, has it been a while since you last used this install? If you don’t have anything you wish to preserve in the database, you can try a fresh Roon install on the Mac by using the below instructions:

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database for safekeeping (Mytek Roon Server)
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area) on the Mac
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location (for your Mac under ~Library as per the guide)
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Numerous repeat posted threads for same problem have been deleted.
Please do not keep posting new threads for the same problem, it will not help, just the opposite usually.
Let’s keep it here please.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Didn’t work. I don’t see Roon server in the~Lib. Cannot find it. But it does boot and show the mytek as the server. Cannot use it this way. Should I sell the Mytek and delete Roon? If you cannot make what used to work in the previous OSX version, Roon is of no use to me.

To find the Library folder, use the following guide.

Library folder found, but no folder for Roon or RoonServer

Have you installed Roon on the Mac Mini? The absense of Roon in ~/Library suggests it is not.

@donherring I agree with @mjw. Can you try installing the Roon app fresh on your Mac?
