Describe the issue

I can only connect 1 tablet a time, I noticed this after buying a second tablet. There is no issue for multiple cellphones.

Describe your network setup

the network is 100% okay

What kind of tablet and how did you set it up.

I have three Android Tablets (Android 8 - limited to an old version of Roon Client but was still working last I tried - Android 13 and Android 15). All worked perfectly happily with Roon simultaneously - at least they did 2 months ago when I last used the Android 8 Pixel C tablet (the Android 15 tablet was purchased as a replacement for the Pixel C). Currently, the more up to date two tablets work fine.

On all three tablets, Roon was installed directly from the Play store. It was not installed by any kind of ‘restore’ or ‘migration’ process. I believe that this last point may be important because any kind of ‘cloning’ of a client also clones the client id and thus the Roon server cannot differentiate between the original and the cloned client.

You could try uninstalling Roon on one of your tablets and then re-installing.

ok, it was cloned I suppose. I will install fresh from play store.

thanks for your answer.

I re-installed the 2 tablets, removed roon from the cellphones.

Tablet 1 connects, then tablet 2 will not connect and it produces also connection problems on tablet 1, the screen blinks.

This is the loop in the log after connecting tablet 2

New install from playstore.

Both tablets can not connect to roonserver simultaneously.

tab 2 : red dot Connecting…

When I stop roon on one tablet, the other is working good.

I stopped tablet 1.

I am pretty sure that the internet radio is causing this misery.

Can I stop that radio in roon. I do not use that.

01/13 20:12:54 Trace: [Broker:Transport] [raatserver] [sood] Refreshing device list

when i kill roon in one tablet this line :

Trace: [Broker:Media] [radio/query] query returned 8 Sooloos.Broker.Api.Channel(s)

stops.

then one tablet get a roon connection.

The whole issue is that roon wants to read my recently played radio stations. I listened to a new radio station and the 8 is now 9.

01/13 20:35:18 Trace: [Broker:Media] [radio/query] query returned 9 Sooloos.Broker.Api.Channel(s)
01/13 20:35:18 Trace: [Broker:Media] [radio/query] performing channel query

I need a solution, this is ridiculous.

Live Radio

Recently played

there are now 9 stations.

I am 100% sure that the recent live radio list reading by the roonserver is preventing me to use roon on 2 tablets simultaneously. Both tablets are receiving a huge amount of data by continuously requests from the roonserver. I could see that in windows networkactivity. It is

RoonAppliance.exe

that creates a huge amount of network data to the 2 tablets and both tablets freeze thereafter.

Hi @rvb,

In order to take action on this report, we’re going to logs from the server and both tablets - our requests to all three machines have so far failed to return a response.

Please use the directions found here and send over a set of RoonServer logs to our File Uploader.

I have the same problem, but the log is different :

01/14 14:24:53 Trace: [Broker:Media] [music/query] query returned 31 Sooloos.Broker.Api.Tag(s)
01/14 14:24:53 Trace: [Broker:Media] [music/query] performing tag query

01/14 14:24:53 Trace: [Broker:Media] [music/query] query returned 31 Sooloos.Broker.Api.Tag(s)

the loop is in the tag query.

the tags are underneath Live Radio, how bizar.

So tomorrow History will cause a loop, I presume.

I uploaded some logs from yesterday with the radio loop.

Okay,

I will stop using my new tablet (for the moment) .

I will try to find someone from who I can borrow a tablet, maybe my new tablet has problems with roon.
