I’m in now and the codec is in the folder. Roon is still not working mind you, but at least I’ve made some progress.

That didn’t really become obvious with this thread title and the fact that you seemed to be focusing on the codecs. Some information on where you are stuck might enable people to help more

Hi @dickardmclean,

Our diagnostic servers indicate that your ROCK was recently active. Are you able to reach the RoonOS web admin page? Can you please share a screenshot here, if so?

If you’re using a Windows 11 computer in any network share capacity this setup, you may need to re-enable guest access permissions for SMB. Windows 11 restricts this by default, and it can block you from accessing the ROCK’s storage/internals.

Please see here:

Let us know if this helps. Thank you!

I followed the directions you shared to permit guest access within windows which allowed me to copy the codec file into the folder. So my initial problem was solved.
The 2nd issue was mostly just me being a dumbass and not realizing that I needed to setup a new server since I had reset everything. I was waiting forever for a connection to the previous server, not realizing that it no longer existed.

All good now! Thanks.

Great that you found it! Enjoy
