Hey @Hubert_Druckfeuchter,

Thanks for writing in - it’s good to see you on the community again!

It looks like our servers were able to ping your Nucleus, are you still having issues? What happens if you select ‘Select a different Roon Server’? Do you see your Nucleus?

Are you able to get a direct ethernet connection from your router to your Nucleus, and see if you run into the same issue?

We’ll be on standby for your reply! :+1:

Good morning,

thanks for the reply. I have tried it later yesterday and roon starts again. Why – i do not know.
I alway saw my roon server in the strating process. First status „initilise“ and shortly after that „ready“. Pressing connect leads to the result you see on my screenshot.

Well maybe something is wrong inside my nucleus, i do not know. I am not listening a lot via network, i mostly play records. But i have a huge collection on my nas. In december it happen that i was playing with roon and suddenly it stopped and roon get real slow. A few hours later all was good again.

I only hope that my nucleus will work a few years more. Unfortuntelay you didn’t have the replacement offer here in europe (except uk as far as i now). Buying the titan is too expensive having a nucleus+, unfortunatley.

Kind regards
hubert

Greetings again,

exactly the same problem todaay. at the beginning everything was fine, then i started to search for a tune. Connection lost and now impossible to get the connceting. First i pad worked, now connection via ipad also down. I got this:

and clicking “verbinden” (Connetion) i git this

i do not know what is wrong, but in fact this is not what i expect form a pretty expensive nucleus+, The whole system is not working good anymore. i still think your software is great, but the nucleus+ and the connections are not good. I had also once a problem that there where different software versions on nuclues und on my pc. i solved this installing again. But i have installed the software on monday again on the nucleus, so this makes alos no sense. and i see the nucleus in my network:

i need your help, please.

kind regards
hubert

Hey @Hubert_Druckfeuchter,

Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear your issues persist. If you could, please share a set of Nucleus logs - you can use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

Based on your webUI screenshot, Roon Server on your Nucleus has been running for 2 days straight, so your issue may not be related to the Nucleus, but to your remote devices failing to maintain a stable connection. Nucleus logs should help us better understand what might be going on. :slightly_smiling_face:

Good morning from Salzburg,

i have send you the zipped log files to your file uploader.

Hi @Hubert_Druckfeuchter,

Thanks for the update!

We were able to review both Nucleus diagnostics and the logs you sent over, it looks like you were able to complete a recent backup, but are having continued issues accessing your music folder:

Warn: [.NET ThreadPool Worker] [roon/cifs] failed to connect to CIFS storage: mount error(113): could not connect to 192.168.0.135Unable to find suitable address.

Perhaps a reboot of your router would be a good next step - it looks like you’re suffering from a network-related issue.

As a next step, see if you can simplify your network chain, and get a direct connection to your router from both your Nucleus and windows remote, and see if you still run into issues.

Thank you! :raised_hands:

Greetings again,

192.168.0.135 is a not valid adress for my NAS. It changed after restarting the NAS last year to 192.168.0.30. In Roon the 168 adress was shown as inactive, but it was listed, i have deleted this entry now, maybe that’s the solution for my problem.

It looks now like this:

before there was shown the other adress also, maybe roon try to reach this adress, although it was marked as invalid.

kind regards
hubert

Greetings again,

that didn’t help. Please can you check the last log file again, i am still waiting for connection. i Have send you the last log file via file uploader.

hubert

Greetings,

i tried everything, starting agteway new various times, but since 3 days i get no connection to nucleus 2. All other elements in the lan net are reachable, well the neclues also via ip adress, but roon can not find the roon server. whats new is that it took now longer that he can find the nucleus in the start page.

So i am really frustrated now, that whole system don’t work properly and it cannoz be the network. All other thins like my power storage, my photovoltaik unit, netflix, amazon prime, everthing is working (they all are on the same switch, on the melco switch is roon and my blu ray player (netflix, amazon prime player). So why is everything working, only the nucleus + with roon software is noct working?

i need help, really. i cannot change to another software, but to me it seems now that the nucleus+ withe roon is defintaly a worng decision, only frustrating experiences in the last months.

kind regards
hubert

please i need your help. roon is not working since one week. it is impossible to connect to nucleus+. i have installed roon new on my computer, i didn’t help. i also can not reach the nucleus using ipad or samsung phone. again i can reach everything in my network, except the nucleus+. i started the gateway few times, i didn’t help.
i am completly frustrated, this software was not cheap, also the nucleus+ was not cheap. i avoid using a mini-pc or whatever, becaus i thought buying the nucleus will cause no problems. i never ever had this problems before, i did not change the computer, nothing. The nucleus+ is simply not reachable. using roon arc leads to thsi message: “your roon server is online but there’s an issue that’s preveenting access”. roon and raat are allowed in norton firewall. looking on the log file (i only have one now) there is no error, i can see fail writing no rrat existing, let’s start one and than started. what i find is connect to Hubsis fünfter (my Pc), lsot connection and this is ongoing, so roon seems to run in circles, but i do nott know why:

i do not know how to find this on the ipad.
nucleus+ is onlinbe and reachable using the browser. adress is 192.168.0.22

really i am frustrated, since onee week no connection, what’s wrong???

please help me!

kind regards
hubert

Hi @Hubert_Druckfeuchter,

The device discovery process is not failing on this network, but something is actively preventing the Windows machine and the iPad from establishing a handshake with RoonServer.

You’ve mentioned active security on this network (like Norton). Please verify that any Roon process is excepted there, not just Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe. Roongoer.exe and RoonAppliance.exe are additional processes. You’ll need to clear these in the Windows Defender firewall, as well.

Please try bypassing the Melco switch entirely as my colleague recommended above, connecting the Nucleus+ and the other controllers (iPad and Windows machine) directly to the main, upstream router in this setup.
