On Friday I haven't problems and today, with any changes in hardware or software I can't log in in my qobuz account from roon.
I enter in qobuz app without problems, but inside roon I'm not able.
Sign into Qobuz via their web account page in a browser on the same machine. Then, sign back out. Open Roon and use the exact same credentials to sign in via Settings → Services → Qobuz.
If you encounter an error message, please share a screenshot here.
Verify that Roon’s processes are added as exceptions to the Windows Defender firewall. Also check that a reliable DNS server is assigned in your router administration settings.
Diagnostics indicate you’re running Roon 1.8, which is no longer officially supported. We’ll do our best to assist and can likely resolve the issue outside Roon, but keep in mind that we no longer ship fixes for issues identified in 1.8.
Thank you Connor for your fast answer.
Yes I know I’m out of date. I need to change Windows version first…
I have roon local in a desktop. Only playing from Qobuz.
To test the problem: Disabled firewall and antivirus. Connected to internet directly using my iphone.
I’ve using this version in this desktop for years without this problem.
Last Friday working and this week not.
No changes in hardware and sofware.
A mystery.
I recently had the exact same issues. Came out of nowhere after years of being problem free. I also am using version 1.8 on a no longer supported windows version.
I changed the DNS server to 1.1.1.1 Cloudflare. And the problem temporarily, for a few days, was resolved but has returned again.
Now, I am again at a loss has how to fix the probelm and any suggestions or work-arounds you have please share them.
Hi @connor
I’m trying to update to Roon 2.x and need to change windows before.
My desktop motherboard hasn’t TPM 2.0 so I can’t update to windows 10 / 11.
I have a supermicro motherboard with a lot of registered RAM and Xeon CPUs.
Microsoft says that I need to throw all my hardware because its SO isn’t working well (aka, Windows 7 / 8.1 are rubbish).
All is fine. All we know microsoft.
But I didn’t expect Roon to enter the Microsoft game…
I can’t install Roon without change all my hardware (that works perfectly and will cost to me several thousand EUR).
Can you please tell me a technical reason recent version of Roon can’t work in windows 7 / 8.1?
Other than ‘the soft test under which SO is running’, please.
Other than Windows 7 / 8.1 are not secure (We all know Windows is not secure, it is my problem to use a good antivirus and firewall).
What is the real technical reason?
Meanwhile I’m thinking to migrate all to ubuntu and say ‘good bye Microsoft, good job’.
Sorry, but I’m outraged by this issue…
Sorry to hear your issues persist. As Connor mentioned, our level of support for legacy products is limited.
Have you tried restarting your router? If you haven’t yet, please set up a direct hardwire ethernet connection from your router to your PC running Roon Server. Try to simplify the network setup as much as possible.
This statement above - do you mean you run into the same issues while using your mobile device?
Are you able to access Qobuz via their app or web browser directly?
Hi Benjamin.
I restarted the router, hardwired connect directly , disabled antivirus and firewall and issue persist.
When I said using my iphone I referred to using it as router, not roon device.
Connecting to internet using mobile.
Meanwhile the connection to Qobuz using their web app works fine.
My previous question: Why Roon 2.0 doesn’t work on a Windows OS 64 bits? Is there a real technical reason, other than Windows 7 isn’t secure or hasn’t microsoft support?
I can’t imagine which.
I found a simple solution to not being able to connect/login to Qobuz. It does does not require any hardware or software updates and is really simple. Quit Qobuz and move to TIDAL as your streaming service.
TIDAL works as expected. Just have to add a whole bunch of albums and artists. A few hours and done.

Or just update to latest version of Roon which should also fix these issues…
I know which one I will be going for…
