Do you have any other audio endpoints? Do they work?
If the answer to either of the above questions is ‘no’, do you by any chance run your Roon Server on a Mac device? If so, has it recently been upgraded to MacOS 15.1 (Sequoia)?
If so, then you may be falling foul of the MacOs 15.1 issue with the network security settings issues. See the linked post below for a possible solution:
Thanks for writing in! Both @CrystalGipsy and @Wade_Oram have provided excellent next steps in troubleshooting.
If none of the above helps, could you please use the directions found here and send over a set of Roon Server logs to our File Uploader?
I’d also test out using a simplified network setup, and get a direct ethernet connection from your Roon Server machine as well as to your Rose. We’ll be on standby for your reply!
I have tried everything suggested and it still doesn’t work. Everything is updated. I tried unplugging and plugging back in. I have looked at every setting and I don’t see anything that even says Roon. What am I missing?
Can somebody with a HIFI rose rs150b help me with this problem?
I am using a Wireworld Ethernet cable. Everything works through to rose app that came with the unit. I have had this unit for almost 2 years and never had a problem streaming music. But for some reason Roon can’t connect with it.
I’m using the same iPad that I use with the rose app. I know I’m missing something but I don’t know what it is. I have tried everything in settings and I can’t get the Roon app to recognize the Rose streamer. HELP!!!
Yes Ethernet is enabled. This shouldn’t be so hard to set up. I have done everything that I can think of and the Roon app on my iPad does not recognize my rose rs150b streamer. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and still nothing. Am I the only person having these problems? Somebody somewhere please help. Thanks
Are all devices connected to the same network/subnet? So let’s say your Roon Server has an IP address like this: 192.168.0.xxx… does your Rose device have the same first three parts of this in its address, something like 192.168.0.yyy?
I have Rose 250 and 520, but they should work exactly the same as your 150. Despite HiFi Rose software being… not the best there is, I’ve never had any issues with Roon accessing them
First thing to check would be what is the IP address of the Roon core, and what is the IP address of the Rose. If they are on the same subnet, what is your Roon server? Does it have any firewall active? Does it see any other devices on your network?
I am looking over the thread and I noticed that there is no mention of what kind of Roon Server you are using, and our support tool process is coming up blank. I suspect that there may be some confusion here on how Roon’s architecture works.
For Roon to be able to use your Rose 150b, you’ll also need a Roon Server (Core) that is in charge of the Roon database. This is typically a PC (Windows/Mac) or it can come in the form of dedicated hardware (Nucleus/ROCK/3rd party Server). Without a Roon Server, you won’t be able to use the Rose, for more information please see:
