Describe the issue

Can't find my music on my NAS, Asustor.

Describe your network setup

Im using accespoints, my NAS is wiered, but it has a new IP adress. With finder I can see the files on the NAS including all the music. But I can't connect!

Are you using Roon on NAS? If so, you should be following these directions to specify the folder for your music upon installation, rather than using the dialog box in your post:

https://roononnas.org/en/asustor/

Since your NAS apparently has a new IP address and it’s possible that your original install was based upon the old IP address, a suggestion I could make is to uninstall the Roon on NAS package and re-install it, re-answering the questions it will present to you. I’m a Synology guy and I know that is how it works on Synology, and only presuming that that is how it would work on Asustor, so please be careful in however the uninstallation process works for Asustor.

Thank you for your input. I’m not a real crack on the NAS installation, I had problems before. My Roon is running on my Mac, and from there, it gets the music from the NAS.
I never know how to “spell” the network share location, see my screenshot.

Oh, hold on a second… I didn’t know you were running Roon on your Mac.

(Sorry, I was on my phone and screwing things up…back on my desktop).

So, the path would be more like this:

smb://NAS-SCALA.local/Music

(note the .local)

or

smb://192.168.x.x/Music

And you likely need a Username and Password for the account on your NAS as well.

Hi @scala ,

You’ll need to input your username and password for Roon to access the NAS. I have found the below guides, these may help:
