· My i9 iMac Roon Server died and I replaced it with another i9 iMac computer as Roon server running OS X 15.8.1. In doing so, I am able to get my music from my Synology NAS and the server sees most of my devices like my Bricasti dac, old Squeezeboxes, KEF LS50W, but on my main office M4 Pro Mac Mini computer Running Tahoe 26.7.1 which is connected to a Benchmark DAC 2 HGC, I am unable to play music. The Mini/Benchmark plays other audio like YouTube, internet based audio but no music from Roon. In checking the Audio tab in settings it indicates This Mac with the ability to enable System Output, Built-in Output Core Audio and lists my Mac mini as other network devices and doesn't see the Mac mini/Benchmark combo as it used to. When I choose either of the outputs listed on the Mac it plays music through the I9 iMac Server. Should I just delete the Roon application from the Mac mini or did I really screw up the setup? :-)

Thanks for the screenshot! We were able to review a fresh set of Roon Server logs. You haven’t broken anything, and there’s no need to delete Roon from the Mac mini.
What we’re seeing: The Mac mini’s Roon app connects to the new server as a remote without problems. However, its audio component never shows up on the server, so the server can’t see any of the mini’s outputs, including the Benchmark. The only Mac outputs the server can see are the iMac’s own (System Output, Built-in Output and Microsoft Teams Audio). That’s why picking either of them plays through the iMac.
On macOS Tahoe, this is usually caused by a privacy or firewall permission on the mini. Please try the following on the Mac mini:
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and make sure Roon (and RAATServer, if it’s listed) is switched on.
If the macOS firewall is on, go to System Settings > Network > Firewall > Options and make sure Roon and RAATServer are allowed to accept incoming connections.
Fully quit Roon on the mini (Cmd‑Q), reopen it and wait a minute. Then go to Settings > Audio. You should see a section for the Mac mini with the Benchmark in it. Click Enable.
If the Benchmark still doesn’t appear, please let us know whether the mini is connected by Ethernet, Wi‑Fi or both.
One more thing we noticed: The Roon app on your M5 Pro MacBook Pro and the Roon app on the new iMac are using the same ID. Because of this, they’ve been knocking each other off the server thousands of times over the past few days. This usually happens when one Mac was set up from the other’s backup or with Migration Assistant. To fix it, on the MacBook Pro running Roon Remote only:
Quit Roon.
Rename ~/Library/Roon to Roon_old.
Relaunch Roon and choose “Craig’s i9 iMac Roon Server 2”.
Went to the Mac mini and Roon is switched on. (Note that there are two Roons listed - both switched on)
No Firewall enabled
Benchmark did not appear in the audio section. It continues to have the same core audio settings
Note that like the M5 MacBook Pro you referenced , the Mac mini was also created with Migration Assistant from the iMac i9 and subsequently the M5 MacBook Pro from the Migration Assistant of the Mac mini
On the M5 MacBook Pro, I renamed the library Roon_old as instructed, relaunched and chose Craig’s i9 iMac Roon server 2. In the Audio section of Roon on the M5 MacBook Pro, like the Mac mini, it lists system output, built-in Output Core audio and Microsoft Teams audio. The M5 MacBook Pro is listed in other network devices and available with AirPlay
On the M5 MacBook Pro Privacy & Security settings>Local Network, there are three Roon settings listed all turned on.
The Mac mini is on ethernet. The M5MacBook Pro is on Wi-fi. The Roon Server is connected directly to the router by ethernet.
Locate the .rmembid file in your home directory on your OSX Roon Remote and delete it
Locate the .rmembid file in your home directory on your Roon Server device and delete it as well
Open your Roon Database Location on your server machine, find the folder called “RAAT_Server” and delete it
Open the Roon Database Location on your Roon Remote and perform the same deletion of the “RAATServer” folder and also the “Roon” folder (just on your Remote)
Reinstall the Roon Remote App for your Remote machine but do not open the Roon app yet
