Hey @petefrie50,

Thanks for taking the time to write in, and sorry to hear about your playback issues!

A few follow-up questions for you:

  1. Does this issue happen with different file formats from Tidal?
  2. Does this issue occur when streaming to the system output of your iPhone or remote device, versus your typical Cambridge receiver?
  3. How is your server machine connected to your primary router? Can you get a direct ethernet connect setup temporarily?
  4. Lastly, double-check for and firmware/driver updates for your devices. I’d see about reinstalling firmware/drivers if there are no available updates.

We’ll be on standby for your results from the above! :raised_hands:

Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I’ve tried a few things and also attached a schematic as to how my system is connected (the DAC is in the Cambridge receiver). I have AirPlay speakers play option as well as the ultrarendu to receiver option on Roon. I can play everything fine from my library and from Tidal to AirPlay. The problem seems to happen when I try to play through my receiver and connected speakers.

Hi @petefrie50,
What level of Tidal membership do you have? Tidal can restrict what formats play due to membership level.

I am not able to get an album from Tidal to Roon. Although was able to get their welcome playlist.
I just began with Tidal on a 2 month trial. Not sure how determine the membership level.

Hi @petefrie50 ,

Please check Roon Settings → TIDAL → Streaming quality and ensure that you set the quality to the highest available one there:

Thanks you -I checked and am signed into max

Hey @petefrie50,

As a side test, could you temporarily set your Macbook air up as both a Roon and Roon Server device? Log into Tidal via Roon Server on the Mac, and see if the same issue occurs.

We’ll be on standby for your reply

As it turned I checked with my hardware vendor, small green computer, for the Sonore Rendu and ended up just running a diagnostic on it and rebooting which solved it. I also logged out of Tidal rejoining and it’s working fine. Thanks for your help everyone.
