I'm having trouble with my DAC, speakers, streamer, etc.
What best describes the issue with your audio device?
My device used to show up in Settings > Audio, now it's gone
I have roon server in a mac mini. In another macbook air, I've installed Roon. I think, the outputs of the macbook air used to show in the audio tab, but now I only see the outputs of the mac mini running the server and another Dietpi in the networ. Am I supposed to also install roon bridge to see these outputs? My understanding was that running Roon (connected to the server) would allow me to use these audio outputs.
It sounds like in your Audio settings page in Roon there’s nothing listed under “This Mac” for the Macbook Air.
If that’s the case, then the local outputs aren’t visible to Roon for one of two reasons: a) RAATServer isn’t running or is crashing on this Macbook Air or b) RAATServer is running, but it’s not allowed to interact with core audio on this Macbook Air due to a security feature.
I’d verify that RAATServer is an excepted process in the Mac system firewall and any third-party antivirus software you might have installed. I’d also open Applications → Utilities → Audio Midi Setup on the affected Mac and make sure that the System Output (Mac speakers) are available as outputs to the computer.
If you’ve tried all the above and still have this issue, then you can refresh RAATServer on this Macbook Air remote by trying the following. Please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings → Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:
Hello. I checked for possible mac os problems, but didn’t find anything. Firewall is disabled, Lulu isn’t blocking anything from roon (and it relates to in/out connections). Tried the steps provided (and also reinstalling), but same outcome. Any other ideas?
