yes. Remote 1.8 worked on the new the system running the Roon 1.8 core. upgraded everything to 2.0 and all works except remote. It connects but black screens a few seconds later. Only have 1 device using remote.
@Alfred_Linthicum, this is in Support’s queue, but let’s see if there is anything else the Community can do to assist.
Does this affect only your iPad Mini? What year/model is your mini, and what version of iPadOS are you running, 17.0.3 or another version? Have your fully deleted Roon Remote 1.8 on your iPad? Have you tried deleting the latest version of Roon Remote 2.0 and reinstalling it from the Apple App Store?
Can you also provide some informaiton about your home network? How is your W11 Core connected to the network, WiFi or Ethernet cable? What is the make/model of your home router?
ipad mini ios latest 15.7.9,yes only ipad, deleted 1.8 remote and 2.0 downloaded latest 2.0 remote. wifi connection to ipad. w11 core connected 10 baset ether net 1GB hardwire. Wireless gives 200mb throughput measured at ipad.
Finally got it to connect and work do not know exact why. ipad came up showing “manage devices” and I selected it before it disconnected. Configured the Linx HILO output device at the ipad (already done on core and working) and now the remote seems to work OK - even returning to were you left after ipad power off, something it never did with 1.8. Core doesn’t reflect what is being played from the remote now -another change from
1.8
Hope it keeps working. Providing this data to help someone else.
I remember the core screen oshowing the same thing as the remote - maybe i am wrong. it does show what is being played at the bottom. I have only 1 outpui in use and my ipad is the only remote. about as simple a setup as possible unless you do not use remote and play/select everything from the core pc. Doing this would make roon pretty much worthless to me.
I wanted to check in on your status and see if you were still having issues. Based on your account information, I see that your core and devices are all on the newer 2.0 builds, please let me know if there is any confusion and if you’re still running into issues getting things squared away.
Seems to be working OK, only occasionally does the remote connect and then black screen.
Doesn’t some sw exist I can run on the remote that gives some error or data on why the connection to the core is made and then fails. Would be a great help.
