Here you see it all already. Audio Input chosen 44.1 and HQP Desktop detects 96. So, You have all that input options offered up to 192. But stay with 44.1 please. There it is switching.

Not this one. The one that shows what input you need to select to get it to work.
This is the one.
I don’t know if deleting the line you mentioned would make a difference.
The line you deleted from config xml is for a machine running HQPlayer to be able to directly take UAC2 input. For example if you load HQPlayer directly on the RPi4, you would need to use the line you deleted.
By selecting the naa input like you are doing, it’s using the same line that’s on NAA OS locally. Which is how it appears in desktop “input” section.
Still, it’s interesting you have it working but myself and Chunhao couldn’t get auto sample rate switching to work reliably.
I can’t recall if it sometimes worked and sometimes broke but maybe next weekend I’ll try it again.
hihi, just did not find hqplayerd.xml at naa os for pi. so just gave it a go without the line
yes, it was a bit special to get it up and running stable. but once it does so, it works. however just changed away from poly-sinc-gaus-xla to poly-sinc-gaus-long and…terrible noise…so switched songs - keeping the wanted new setting - and after a while it was working fine again…so perfect for a “set and forget” way, i think. switching iOS Apps on bigger chain works now smoothly.
PS @Michael_Grant is correct imo. Having the ipad at the office desk is perfect. Cables do not matter for that imo. Different if i am running around…For this still big fan of Airplay. Best with Shairport-Sync feeding HQP (pls. see above for the solution).
PPS One can remote control Spotify - running on iPad - e.g. via Mac. Not too bad imo. Like a little Roon.
Yes you won’t find hqplayerd.xml on NAA OS.
But you will find it on HQP OS for RPi4. In that case, you would use that line.
Same like UpBoard can run HQP OS also , not only NAA OS.
As long as this noise doesn’t come back when changing a track (changing sample rate) then that’s fine.
Has that happened to you when changing tracks / albums?
Or only an issue when changing filters?
Nope not anymore now. Just plays fine. Howeve still watching, if it is really stable in longterm. Still larning about the weaknesess.
((((Playing Roon App on iPad Pro to iPad Pro Output works fine with feeding HQP. MQA in Roon running on iPad Pro using Output to iPad Pro works, if selecting “Renderer only” for iPad Pro in Roon. MQA sample rates arrive correct at HQP for further upsampling by HQP using the HQP algorithms for that Can not do Airplay from Mac to that iPad Pro. However: 5 Apps to Turn iPhone/iPad/iPod into AirPlay Receiver (2022))))
Anyway, I think, we got a 99% working iOS HQP >>input NAA (or Android HQP input NAA) now that is capable of auto sample rate switching. And this for little money by using little Pi. Attaching a battery and its portable too Let´s attach a DAC hat to the Pi and you are set. This should be able to run in parallel with HQP for input and output NAA as actually two different devices although one Pi only. USB-C input at Pi and DAC Hat output. Using this with RopieeXL (Myself using USB and HAT both for output in parallel right now)…And once we have this all optimized Apple will throw the switch and enable MacOS to be bitperfect in output just like iOS…
Is it maybe that Amazon is ready all the time with selectable but not working exclusive mode but only waiting for some folks from Cupertino to make a simple adaption in OS? Ok, have a nice weekend and enjoy the music
Edit: In order to control Roon on iPad from e.g. Mac, you need to disable “private zone” default for that iPad. Then Roon works just so smoothly like Spotify for remote control of iPad.
Edit02: So what is missing left now? A remote control for a running Apple Music on iOS. We have a kind of for Mac that runs AM with iTunes Remote, but for iOS running AM?
Well, I let this little drama bump me into buying an UP board myself. Not even really sure what I want it for. It’s not totally impulse, been thinking about it for a while. Haven’t actually tested HQP yet either. A boy needs a hobby/the devil makes work and all that…
hihi, well myself very happy with HQP and the little Pis in the chain too now! Like the sound of HQP. Listening mostly in DSD256x. So meanwhile upsampling actually any of my audio sources with HQP. Well, for video I have to be careful because of delays. So mostly going there for Airplay only. If you have not started with HQP maybe take a look on HQP Desktop. You can run it on all OS. Super easy setup. Pls. give it a bit of better machine than a 1GB Pi 4 only for better modulators and filters and take a listen. Once you are on the hook, you may start to understand why we are looking to feed anything to HQP. All addicted to the Sound
PS Streaming now Airplay to iPad too Using Airfoil for this. Ca. 40 USD. So, surfing on iMac and listening via iPad Pro to HQP. No setting switch at HQP at all for really a lot of stuff now. Once the wireless NAA headphone is out of development, we are all set!
Rumours said for this headphone DSD205678!!!
Yeah, there’s just the equivalent networkaudiod.xml and by default it has this:
<input name="USB Audio Class 2" channels="2" device="uac2" format="auto" pack_sdm="1" period_time="100" type="uac2"/>
So if the USB stack works on NAA OS, then the UAC2 input should be visible at HQPlayer side, when configured there.
Note that also DSD should work over DoP.
There are also example lines for RME HDSPe AIO and RME ADI-2 Pro, but those need some manual editing because RME has the serial encoded in the device id.
Tried to feed DSD (via Roon) but was not lucky. Not such important to feed DSD itself for myself. Only super quick first experiment. Jussi, may you please post the path to the xml on NAA OS?
It is at /etc/networkaudiod
For DSD you would need to enable DoP at the source side.
Thank you. yes, it is arriving at HQP, shows HQPClient. But have HQP Desktop still on audio input 44.1. I guess I need to change away from that to get DSD stream playing. In Roon you can setup the iPad to be DoP capable. And thenI generate the DoP stream via Roon DSP for testing. Stream passes all through to HQP. Never mind please. This is my handling for sure. Feed PCM normally only.
PS Did look for something like NAA
Edit: Can’t see incoming DoP anymore in HQPClient. But pretty sure, did see it once. A bit lazy to hunt for it now. Maybe when @dabassgoesboomboom starts his look into it, like supporting him then with that. Pi is important imo as a lot of us own it already, I guess.
I finally got around to ordering the UP gateway im hoping to place it as you say between my bluesound node and ifi stream so i can run through apple music , nugs.net , xmradio etc streaming from ios through hqplayer os with audiolense convolution filters and pcm upsample to my holo may dac. Very excited.
where did you order please? up shop itself? oh, even gateway! how cool is that!!
How do you get the AM stream please? Via Bluesound? For “bitperfect” hires AM you require physical output from an iDevice please via USB, as to my knowledge, there is not any device except Apple Apps that AM streams hires to. So, no Sonos, no Bluesound…Only iOS can do bitperfect. Not even MacOS. Therefore I am asking please. @dabassgoesboomboom will help you for sure with that. Myself is pretty much done already with the stuff I was interested in. Result, my chain is still super fine. Only had to do some updates to the streaming part. That such a 10 year old highend chain still works great has one reason: HQPlayer by @jussi_laako
Da bass is strong !
Uploaded to AM in 192. Stay tuned
dabass - YouTube +++ Apple wants me to keep my MgP original name. They are super nice. But MgP has too many conflicts with others…
Edit: dabass by MgP2804 on TIDAL ++ others are coming they are fast with me
Qobuz is the fastest with releasing in 192. However, if one looks in Audirvana most prob this track will turn out as Fake 192. This should be a 48/24 track only because of the used stuff for that one. Do not have Audirvana myself anymore.

@dabassgoesboomboom @jussi_laako wondering if you guys could lend some assistance i have my up gateway setup with hqplayer OS 4.30.3-x64gen. Bluesound node and/or IFI zen stream > usb 3.0a /micro b > up gateway > usb 2.0 type a/usb type b > holo may dac. cant get sound
The ifi zen cant detect the upboard as the reciever im assuming the same for the blusound
