I have a DSD-capable DAC (PS Audio Directstream) and would like to use Roon to convert PCM files to DSD but I cannot seem to set the program to do so. In the DSP Engine Sample rate Conversion screen/menu, I do not have a “DSD” drop down option – just Custom, For Compatibility and two Max PCM options, and the various conversion options for PCM rates don’t provide an option of converting to DSD. Does Roon have this functionality? If so, what am I missing? Thanks.
PS DirectStream converts PCM to DSD on board. You paid a lot of money for Ted Smith’s software to do that specific conversion for you. Why would you want to hand over that conversion to someone else?
Interested to see how well Roon does it.
Post a screenshot of device settings/audio.
What colour are the DSD formats.

Turns out my problem was I had the volume set as something other than Fixed Volume (I believe that was the problematic setting), which apparently defeats the ability to convert to DSD.
